alright fellas and fellaettes(?), I picked up a nice WW mother last night and it's in hydroton. I've never had a mother before and am just wondering what kind of maintenance she needs? How often do I feed? is she ok just on the side of my CFL's? let me know guys, thanks!
this is what im working with. could i put it in a bucket and just feed it like that? if so, would i need to feed it and drain it a few times a day or just leave nutes in there at all times and change them periodically? (the bottom of the bucket has slits)
just feed her lighter then you would a regular veg plant (about 1/2 - 2/3 strength).she will be fine under CFL's. just make sure you give her a heavier nitrogen feeding every time you strip her of all her cuttings so she can bounce back. if you want to keep her short just trim her roots every couple months and dont transfer her into a larger net pot until the stem is too big for the pot. it also helps to cut off the tap root so she will focus on more feeders. the tap root is only good for letting the plant grow big and tall. more feeder roots = more healthier cuttings.
