I was just about to post this.  I smoked a bowl after a month long break and drank some coffee.  I'm ripped high.  And I found this awesome song:

Maybe its not "lesser known"...I dunno. I don't know many people who are familiar with this group.

Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?

Gentle Giant, one of the best progressive rock band I have ever heard!

The Flaming Lips are known by some persons, really awesome psychedelic band

I prefer the album In a Glass House, but yeah, Octopus is totally a masterpiece, I wish I could get my hand on their LPs

alienscience- Modest Mouse is awesome.  If you just found out about them The Moon & Antarctica and The Lonesome, Crowded West are both solid albums.

RasJeph- I inhereited some Gentle Giant vinyl so I was lucky enough to be exposed to them.  I've only heard Octopus and Playing the Fool so that song was new to me.  Very cool prog rock band.

Along those lines though here is some Genesis, which is fucking epic.  One of those songs that has to be listened to entirely.

T-Rex- I have never heard of Tame Impala but that sounded like what I was looking for, a new adaptation to it even.

Gaskelort-  Flaming Lips are alright.  I remember buying Transmissions from the Satellite Heart in the used bin years ago and liked that.  Honestly I lost track of them after Yoshimi and the Robots.

Well the Flaming Lips albums I really like are the more psychedelic ones, like Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, At War with the Mystics, Embryonic, The Soft Bulletin, going to see them in show the July 31th.

I fucking love early Genesis.

Something about Progrock really grabs me.

I have always been a huge fan of prog rock.  Yes started me off in that direction and King Crimson carried me for a while.

Adrian Belew, Tony Levin and Pat Mastellotto from Crimson are coming to a local venue here in October! Tickets are $30, I'll probably end up going. They said they'll be playing stuff from Crimson as well as Peter Gabriel and Zappa.
I think it'll be a good time...

Some ELP for now:

Had to post a couple more, they aren't necesarily psychadelic, but I do enjoy them when high.

EDIT: These are trippy

How about Dead Meadow?

Fuck I love them with my entire being. This song is the most chill one, most others are real heavy.

I feel my brain melting out of my ears every time I hear that track ^

Well shit at this point I will throw some Yes in the mix.  Awesome band.  I saw them on their 35 anniversery tour with Dream Theater and they still tore it up for being so old.

No problem.  It's hard to believe that album is 40 years old.  Can is really, really good.  I can upload that album if you or anyone wants it.

thar she is. That site is probably the best site to upload files to.

Anyone interested in creating a mailing group to share music?  Send links to uploaded albums and the such.  There is one on the Shroomery and I think one here would get me some different music.  There was a thread dedicated to sharing music but I think some record labels were getting pissed so it went to mailing list. Since Tune Town can come up on a google search I think we would have to go straight to a mailing list.
