A judge in Texas has rejected a county attorney's proposal that would allow Willie Nelson to mail in a plea agreement and fine in connection with a November 2010 marijuana arrest. The Country Music Hall of Fame member was arrested and released on bail after his tour bus was pulled over during a border stop in Sierra Blanca, Texas. A Border Patrol agent smelled marijuana and confiscated approximately three ounces of the substance. In March, Hudspeth County Attorney C.R. "Kit" Bramblett announced that Nelson could plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge if he paid a small fine and sang "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" in the courtroom. County Judge Becky Dean-Walker said she would not accept the deal. In June, Bramblett said the singer had pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and would pay a $500 fine and $280 in court costs. Late last week, she ruled she will not accept a mailed-in plea...

Headlines today: Willie Nelson, a non-violent pot smoker will do prison time. In other news... Casey Anthony the mother who partied for 30 days while her daughter was missing, lied to police multiple times, and had a trunk that smelled like a dead body found not-guilty & will be released from custody shortly. <--- The priorities of the justice system at work for us all ....
