mushroom spores

I have a question that i was hoping somebody could answer for me. So Im preparing to grow some mushrooms. I have a p. cubensis spore print thats inside an airtight sealed ziplock bag, but it was printed in 2008. So im wonedering if i need to buy new spores or if i can still use this. im not sure how long a spore print is good for. anyone?? thanks

It could be but it may not be, usually with prints that old I would do a liquid culture since you don't know how many of those spore are good.
I would get more so you don't waste your time but that's just me.

Make a syringe, than do a LC. Prints last for a long time if done right.

Spore prints can be good for 20 plus years.
Not long ago I made cakes using syrings from Ralf that was 5 years old.

spores are fine, the purpose of a spore is to be a hardy vessel that can contain a viable cell in a harsh environment for many years until conditions are suitable for growth
Id bet the spores will grow/fruit If used properly that is..

yea they should work fine if not let me know.
also if you need any help or words with your project just shoot me a pm or something and ill be glad the throw pointers or help out in any way!

Yes they should work fine, but if you feel the need, check out some of the sponsors and buy a syringe.
