Sickly brown leaves.

Just noticed the weirdest leave discoloration for the first time. It's on the top of the buds. Recently switched from watering with distilled water to PH balancing tap water + nutrients. That's the only thing I can think that is wrong. I left out the jugs for 24 hours to let the chlorine evaporate so I'm at a loss.
Soil Growers: 1. Are you growing from seed or clones: Clones 2. How old are your plants? 30 days veg, 5th week of flowering 3. How tall are your plants? 3.5 feet 4. What size containers are they planted in? 2 gallons 5. What is your soil mix? Fox Farms Ocean Forest 6. How often do you water and what type of water do you use? Tap water, Ph'd 7. What is the pH of your water? Water with 6.6, comes out of tap at 7.7 8. What kind of fertilizer do you use and what is its NPK ratio? Fox Farms Trio + Solubles 9. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything? No 10. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? (HPS, MH, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent "plant lights") 400 watt HPS 11. How close are your lights to the plants? About a foot 12. What size is your grow space in square feet? 8 sq ft 13. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space? 70-78, 40-50% RH 15. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? No

This is a problem, a 7.7 pH is way to high. I bet the pH of your soil is a bit higher than 7.7 I would go back to Distilled water. I'm not sure why you changed it? You need to know what's in your tap water before you start using it. You need to check the ppm of dissolved solids already in your tap water.

Arrowedhead Distilled water is like 6 bucks for 5 gallons, which gets expensive since I water every 3 days. I thought as long as I balance it down to a acceptable level I'll be fine. Buying water is fucking expensive.

there are products you can buy to balance the PH of your tap water. They can get expensive depending on what you buy but it will still be cheaper in the long run then buying arrowhead all the time.

Started watering with distilled 2 days ago and the leaves are already bouncing back to normal. Guess my tap water is too shitty.

I just found a fish store that sales RO water at $0.25 per gallon. I agree that distilled water is expensive, so I'm making the move to RO.

distilled water is just left to sit out and distill when OR water is run through a reverse osmosis process that eliminates micro impurities.

no and yes
Yes on the RO water part, but no on the distilled part.
Distilled water is run through a distillation process, it's not just water that is left out.
Essentially both RO and distilled water are the same thing, pure to near pure water with a pH of 7.0 or very close.

It involves boiling the water.
Distillation is a method of separating mixtures based on differences in their boiling points.
