So we're coming up a bit short on cash for this month. The obvious solution is gonna be to have a rave. I'm gonna charge $10 at the door for admittance and some methylone (since its legal and junk) or $5 if people take care of their own droogs.
We've got a sweet sound system, and some party lights from Spencers.
I've never really been into the whole rave scene, so I don't know what to get really. I know the cliche things like glowsticks and techno music, but beyond that I don't know shit.
I'll probably rig up some kind of laser machine since I have really nice 100w purple and green lasers.
We kinda want to make this a monthly deal (at the end of every month) so the rave money will mostly go back into making next months rave bigger and better. So, even if something you post is expensive, we can work up to it (fog machine!)
Before you tell me how bad of an idea this is, I'm keeping it really small (under 15 people) and it will all be people I would trust with my life, and their significant others.
Suggest me anything. Food, lights, music, anything.

Sounds like you got most everything covered. I threw one once. We had a lot of beer and jungle juice made up. Glow sticks are awesome especially if you cut them open and fling the juice on yourself/others/walls with black lights going on.

Yeah glowsticks are a must. Tie them to some strings so you can swirl them about.

I hope you've got a bumpin setlist cause it's the music the makes the rave. Everything else is secondary.

I've got Cookie Monsta and Infected Mushroom...thats about the only electronic music I'm familiar with.
Whats some good music that is a staple at raves?
And @Ben - if all goes according to plan, there might be titties with glow paint

Granted, I dropped out of the trance scene after I got sick, but here are some older tracks that might appeal to you

Try to get some Psytrance/Goa and a few Dubstep/Neurofunk or DNB Tracks.
A little downtempo or other sprinkled in couldn't hurt either, just make sure it flows with the set...
Play what sounds good to you guys.

Thanks for the musical suggestions! Since I've never been to a rave before myself, and neither have probably most of the people coming, this is something that will have to evolve over time as we find tracks that work for us.
Hopefully it'll be real successful and it'll be a monthly thing for me.
