A small slap is like a small burst of anger, you probably didn't hit them too hard if you were slapping.
Grabbing and shaking and yelling at them is just trying to abuse/scare them into submission, I think that's worse. It combines part physical (the grab) with mental abuse.
Both of these are completely ok sexually though.

Funny this got bumped, because I bought some whiskey yesterday and said "whiskey puts me in that special place, that place where its OK to beat your wife."
