    #555463 - 05/14/11 10:00 AM (13 years, 6 months ago)

Do you think we even have a chance getting a bid for the WH? Im considering getting an official state id, rite now I just have a picture ID from my tribe.

SO we have a chance?

It's too early to tell. Right now he has the fastest growing grass roots campaign, and his online presence is greater than Obama's even.

The biggest obstacles to over come is to 1)Get people registered to vote and 2)Get them to actually cast a vote.

1/3 American's vote. Typically 45% of the vote will win the election. With 300 million citizens that is something like 50 million votes to win.

I think part of the problem are states having closed primaries.  In my state at least you have to be registered as a republican just to vote in the primary races for Ron Paul.

His ideas just aren't popular enough for the republicans to consider him for the race in 2012, and if he were to run as independent he would get even less attention.

There is always a chance.  Don't forget how close we came to having that p.o.s. Palin as #2 in charge.

My suggestion is to treat this like something that can, and will, happen.  Openly talk about him and why you are excited about him.  Jump in to any campaign events you can reasonably help with.  Basically, just run with your excitement.

It remains to be seen who Fox News picks up as their front runner, so far they have featured Ron Paul sparingly, but deleted an online poll where he had 50% of the vote.

I really hope he does.
I hate most republicans, and dig a lot but not all libertarians, but I love Ron Paul. :ronpaul:
Anyway, what tribe are you in?

I registered as a r and voted for him in primary 4 years ago. I will do it again. I dislike both parties equally. I don't affiliate with either. Paul is not the typical republican. Registering in a primary does not mean you like all republican policies, just that you may want to vote for Ron Paul. The only reason I wouldn't do this, would be if someone I liked more ran in the dem. primary, and I don't see that primary really happening.
If you love freedom, and want more of it, I say vote for RP. Gary Johnson is probably a good choice also, he is Libertarian also. Unlike paul, he is pro choice. Also on the question of drugs, Johnson would ONLY want MJ legalized. Either of these would be better than anyone in office of pres for the past 30-50 yrs.

My political views are unrealistic but basically just about love and freedom.
I hope one day that we can achieve it.
I'd rather vote Democrat than Republican though, but libertarians, like Ron Paul are really the best choice, and I'd vote for him over anyone else. :happyweed:

Gary Johnson would be a better choice, but he just doesn't have the support of Ron Paul, I would like to see him on the ballot as Ron's running mate.

Paul also has some pretty radical ideas which are hard for mainstream people to accept. Such as him wanting to dissolve the Federal Reserve, his position for the legalization of Heroin, and his stance that killing Osama Bin Laden should not have been carried out.

I vote for him when I can since I like him more than the other candidates but he practices 60's style of politics in the modern arena, which is why I dont think he has a realistic chance of getting the GOP nomination.

That's cool.  I have hung out with a bunch of Anishanabe from Canada.  Most of the ones I knew were swingers, even the Mishomis and Nikomis.  They really knew how to party.

The problem is that now Obama is going to take credit for the CIA unfreezing Osama's body, and with him having so much praise Ron Paul doesn't stand a chance.

A large portion of his votes were from the Anti-War crowd. Now he has only started more wars. Paul opposes war and supports an immediate withdrawal of the troops.

Not saying it will make a difference, but if he makes it past the primaries, his views should be known by a large amount of voters.
