Reading while stoned.
    #555531 - 05/14/11 03:26 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

Anyone else like to read a good book after a nice and easy smoke session?
Exciting stuff.:feelsgoodman:

Holy shit, the Growey still has the OG feelsgoodmen.:awesome:

Edgar Allen Poe's short stories are very captivating. I really like Chuck Palanhiuk, Klosterman, or Bukowski as far as writing styles go.

...and I can't leave out the good 'ol Dr. Thompson as well.

I gotta get into more Bukowski.
And Henry David Thoreau.

I only read when I'm stoned, otherwise I have difficulties with concentration ... Anyway, I love reading Hunter S. Thompson's books after a joint, also, if you like spirituality, Carlos Castaneda's books are really awesome if you like reading about chamanism.

For university, I only read my texts when I'm high, way easier to study them and understand them

For me, it's reversed, I can't read stoned very well at all without losing concentration and forgetting what I just read by the next page
But with low doses of opies I have no trouble...strange

Well it does that because I have an attention disorder, which I dont take any medication for... My psychologist told me that for some people, weed can replace the medication ....

I also know that without ganja, I would have never reached university ...

Similarly, I can't smoke and read.

I know it sounds lame, but I enjoy listening to books on tape, if someone appropriate for the subject matter is reading it.

Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?

I cant read while being stoned. I end up re-reading the same paragraph like 100 times and I still dont get it.
I do enjoy to get smoked out after I finish a chapter and just feel good about it.

So true ... I always write my essays stoned .... It gives just so much inspiration and it also helps invent creative ways of writing!

Nah, I disagree; take Terence Mckenna as an example.

I get this thing where I have way too many things I'm trying to say. Then it comes off as babbling and just a bunch of crowded up bullshit. Stoned or sober

If you like suspense, fiction you should check out Mary Higgins Clark

The Annastasia Syndrome and Where are the Children are 2 of her novels I really like; she also has some really good short stories if you dont really like reading long novels.

Micheal Creighton is another quality author. Dude does his research and makes his fiction very realistic.
