with the 100 main threads requesting drug hookups?
there is a right way and a wrong way to do what you need to do but I think blatantly asking the community for sources should be a no-no. Or openly asking people to PM you sources, or offering to give up sources via PM, openly.

Theres a difference between addressing an issue and snitching individuals out one by one. Its quite disappointing your attitude on the subject

And what is my attitude on the subject? If you don't care about the problem, then don't take steps to solve it. Obviously, moderators in the specific forum aren't on twenty-four hours a day, and other moderators who are might not have any interest in that specific forum. If the problem concerns you, then use the moderator notification function when you see it. Otherwise, I don't see how this post really helps anything since it isn't going to cause mods/admin to go into Defcon 4 and start scanning relentlessly at all hours.

plus why would I notify moderators if the users are not violating any current rules. The whole point in bringing the topic up for discussion is in hopes there will be some rule included for source discussions especially when its soo obvious.

You just seem like you dont think its a big deal that people are openly requesting sources. Maybe if some sort of rule was in place people wouldnt do it as openly?
It doesnt bother me but I figured it would be an issue that the staff would want to address. I know this site is just getting going so all new rules and additions are likely going to come via the community members and Im simply voicing an observation and sharing it with the people I thought it should be shared with

Which is why we said "PM me for sources" or used abbreviations rather than posting them.

I think you just narced yourself out genius, I didnt mention anyone specific and no I wasnt actually talking about just you or even you specifically.
It was more aimed at the fact that if there were a rule against it, people would refrain from doing it. It isnt mentioned anywhere on the rules in the smoking lounge

If you created this thread thinking that there wasn't a rule against this, and that was your point in creating the thread (you never really said), then that's understandable, but I had assumed you knew, since I thought it was common knowledge that it is against the rules. "Requests for illegal substances, public or private, will not be tolerated. " is the user policy, one would think the common sense policy as well.
I do think it is a big deal, but I don't view every forum, nor should I, and my point is that if you won't click notify moderator, then you really must not think its a big deal that people are openly requesting sources, since you are actually aware of it occurring, I am not, and you are not using the tool provided for you to bring it to my attention.

You agreed to a policy when you joined that clearly states ". Requests for illegal substances, public or private, will not be tolerated. ". Saying "pm me for sources", or abbreviations, or any other subtle sign you make in public that you want to request or offer illegal substances, doesn't make it in the clear. If I were you, I'd go remove it all and stop it before a moderator who sees it bans you from the boards permanently. Its not just yourself that you are endangering, but the site itself.
