THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Updated: May 03, 2011 -8:37 am ASHEBORO, N.C. —Police and U.S. Customs Enforcement agents have arrested four men and seized 2,800 pounds of marijuana and nearly $450,000 in cash in Asheboro. Erick Jaramillo Vences, Ivan Rodriguez, Edgar S. Soria, and David Miramontes have been charged with conspiracy to traffic marijuana. Officers said they found the large stash of marijuana Friday in a commercial building rented by the suspects. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency estimates the retail cost of marijuana at between $500 and $2,000 per pound, depending on quality. Drug paraphernalia and cash were seized at an Asheboro home rented by two of the men. A K-9 team found $448,000 in the bumper of a vehicle parked there. Bond for each suspect was set at $250,000.
