Got a friend who has managed to acquire some DMT. I'm going to be flying out there next week and we are going to have a hell of a weekend. Anyway, im boning up on all things DMT now. I read strausman's book a long time ago. Then i watched the documentary a while back too. In fact I'll rewatch that next. I lent her my book. I read the Tihkal entry for DMT (nndmt) and this FAQ as well. I have also familiarized myself with the dosage advice in Erowid. I'm probably over preparing myself. I already know a bit about the experience. Probably as much as can be known without experiencing it anyway. My friend has tried it a half dozen times or so but has never broken through. We've talked about it a lot of the last couple months. Lastly, I took some time to read the DMT and tryptamines entry in Stafford's Psychedelic Encyclopedia. So, with this I'd like to renew the DMT discussion here. Have you tried DMT? Would you try it? If you have what was your experience like? got any good links for a first timer? I think my next stop will be over to dmt nexus.

Spring time must bring out the DMT curious!
Was just looking for info to do some extractions. With acacia confusa and a couple other active acacia around here. I have known about these trees and their actives for awhile now but have not been motivated to mess with them.

I would love to try DMT, but I haven't tried any other psychedelics yet so I think it might be a bit much. Once I've had some experience I'd love to try it at least once. Probably more depending on how I like it.

FB, guess all I can say is have your friend light it for you and sit back in your seat. Opening your eyes during a breakthrough is intense! But very VERY beautiful. Going through hyperspace requires calmness, and is quite ovewhelming at times. The elves will welcome you with open arms so no need to freak out. Music you love in the background is a great way to soothe it all out.

obviously it's too late to not research it. That's ridiculous and the opposite of the advice i would give.  thanks guys! yeah, music will be good. probably lots of candles and good smells too. you guys try it with pot or just the dmt by itself?

dmt only, always just dmt. i agree with coaster, i researched it before i did it and i wish now that i hadn't. dmt isn't like anything else, its not a drug or close to it, its beyond. clear your head before going in. forget everything you learned.

I have to say no on the music. When I did DMT, I wished the whole time I hadn't had it going. It seemed to cloud the trip and was almost like it got in the way.
Maybe I just enjoy the wrong music, but what I listen to is perfect for most other psys.

Maybe some pot as you're coming down in the afterglow if you want but it'll probably be the last thing on your mind. It's so brief and so intense that there really isn't much point and if you break through you'll be incapacitated anyway.

yeah the general consensus on the DMTnexus is music is no good. clouds the trip.
ill tell you the same thing i told my brother when he tried it. dont be scared, dont be nervous. its gonna be intense. but everything thats happening is supposed to happen.

oh yeah,
take two BIG hits, or three if you can manage it. Make sure you get it all down.
A non breakthrough DMT trip would be so anti climatic.
I would recommend using a dry bong if its available. allows you to get a lot down.

that might not work too well, as it tends to melt down, plasticy like.
i would recommend some kind of herb, or tobacco or something of the sort. possibly dome damiana or marshmellow leaf if you can get it. it works better to have it on top of something. i used weed, but i would advise against it for your first time

The last few times I've done it I just sprinkle it on top of some weed to melt on and vape that.
That method works very well for me.

oh yeah you want to kinda like vape it too. dont burn the shit up, try to get the lighter right over it until it melts into whatever medium you use. once its melted into the medium, then you can blaze it a bit better.

what, is the ingestion of DMT so good that it even has it's own soundtrack?
all i remember hearing about is a crackaling, which sounds annoying...

I am one that usually researches everything and anything before I try it....But with that said, I do agree with ^^^this^^^.

My .02cents....I prefer the setting to be absolute silent and in complete darkness or at least a dimly lit environment. I have done it outdoors in the forest a few times, which words won't explain....I do agree with what erowid suggests for dosage, 10mg to 20mg for your first time should be about right IMO. In my experience, once ya start getting around 25mg+ is where things start to get rather intense.
Using one of these is the best method IMO,
If you use some other smoking utensil just try to hover the flame, keep it mind the stuff melts and turns into liquid very quickly. Hold the hits in as long as you can, if you can go back for more go for it. I normally feel the effects damn near instantly as soon as I start to hit the pipe.
Though the effects do come on quickly, I find it to be an incredibly peaceful experience. Just simply lay down and let go, become immersed. I have been caught off guard a few times at the intensity but have never had what I would consider a bad time...It can cause a rapidly increased heart rate in some people. I've seen & heard of people getting freaked out by that, I experience it as well but it's never bothered me as I know DMT is a relatively safe chemical and has been used for quite some time....
I absolutely love the after glow from DMT! I'm typically back down to baseline around 10 to 15 minutes after hitting it, but always have a warm fuzzy glowy feeling that last for quite some time after.

My buddy is sittin on a bunch of DMT at his place and offered to let me try it. He's tried it a couple times and fully broke through. He said it was unlike anythin he could ever begin to describe. I told him I tried Salvia and he said it is way different than that, and that Salvia is DMT's evil cousin. Haha. I'm waitin to build up the courage to actually try the shit, I've broken through on Salvia a few times and all I gotta say is fuck that shit. DMT should be a far more enjoyable experience. Good luck on your mental journey bro! Have fun too and don't over think everythin. Just let time and space flow as they should and ride the current.
