not enough light maybe, depend on your situation. I have had buddies get their outdoor plants to be 12 feet, im not sure about half a foot in a day, but im sure its possible if its outdoors.

Yup, not enough light can get them stretching. I've seen people mention a growth rate like that, but its typically with primarily sativa genetics, and during the stretch after the lighting is reduced.
Are you doing outdoors or indoors? If indoors, keep the light on 24/7. If you're using fluo, keep them a few inches away. If they still don't grow after a week. Pull them another inch or two away. They will reach towards the light.
Stretching to reach a weak light source isn't the type of growth you want. Keep your lights as close as possible without burning them for a higher rate of growth..
so what is the fastest rate of growth for cannabis?
i've seen pictures of plants outside that are huge, and all this in the months between early april and september or whatever flowering time the plant has
i've never seen these things grow faster than like a foot a month! what's the deal?(although i've never gotten a plant over a foot for some reason, so maybe they grow faster after that first foot, I don't know)
