In that case, I'd definitely suggest getting a ceramic metal halide bulb instead of a regular metal halide bulb (since you're getting a 400 watt ballast). The light spectrum is significantly better across the board and you can get your light closer to the plants as well since there isn't as much heat.

I think they definitely should as long as they aren't digital. There might have been one thing that is necessary regarding the ballasts for them, but I'm about to eat and watch something, so I'll research into that for you later. If you know any information about the ones you have in the meantime, that'd help. All I do know is that those bulbs are something else, I just wish they had them in 600 watts.

Yeah, most of the same-wattage HPS ballasts should work as long as they aren't really inexpensive, because there might be trouble with operation if the wire between the ballast and the light socket or the connectors are of poor quality. I don't know much about the specifics of ballasts, but while searching it says it basically needs "high quality STRANDED 600v rated 16ga - 14ga wire between the ignitor (ballast box) and the socket. You should also use 5kv pulse rated connectors and always ground your hood/reflector (safety)".

Do you have pictures of the lower leaves on that Mrs. Phat? It looks like some problems we had with some of our leaves, but it was happening on our lower leaves first. It really looks like Mg deficiency. It looks like your pH went down a little too far for Mg to be taken up in soil.
Looking forward to seeing your Arjan's Haze #3 come along!
