I work on a hops farm, its fucking sweet. 10 acres of 7000 plants.Greatest job ive ever had. My bestfriend/bass player in my band owns it. Been back at it this season for a week or so now. Cant wait to drink the finished product this year.

I work on a farm during the summers (Gonna start again pretty soon), nothing like being in the outdoors bonding with nature.

Hell ya man, and its like a hobbie for me, i could be out there or days, not miss the city at all. Somedays not so much, got wind burn on my face the other day that hurt like a bitch!

A guy gets used to it, make your face like a leather bag.
I try to make my experience as enjoyable as possible, but most days I end up busting my ass. I'm looking forward to it, but by the time fishing season comes I'm usually ready for it to be over with.
I encourage people to get out and take opportunities like this, its not about the money its about living like a human being.

Ya, im most definitely not in it or the money, i was at first. Then it came to be my favorite hobby. Now i do it cause i love it. I may feel like shit somedays, but like you said its about being a human being. If i didn't start working up there i wouldn't ever have a chance like this again.

Tell me about it. The past 2 summers I have worked on an Ostrich Farm out in the middle of Arizona. Literally smack dab in the middle between Phoenix and Tucson. It's actually the world's largest Ostrich farm and they are the only ones in America with a special breed called South Africans which are tame (at least for ostrich)

What kind of hops you guys growing ?
I am interested after the harvest, ive been collecting brewing supplies recently and Id love to have my own hop grower and not have to buy shit from random companies online

We are growing, Cascades, Centennial, Mount Hood, Fuggles, Nugget. Also to make them 10 times better they are 100% organic, the whole farm is!
Shit form online is meh, most beer companies(unless they run their on farm) get shit product, no smell, all dry, swept up from the corners of warehouses. You looking for a large amount?
And for anyone interested i can post some pics of how things are going, its crazy huge, something really cool to see.

I just put some pics up from last year, before the trellis was finished. Its complete now. Strung aircraft cable through the whole place. More pics to come for those interested!

I'm currently growing a couple of nugget varieties at my parent's place...but i feel like its too hot down in the southeast, because i always get lanky growth and a few spindly looking cones...but oh well it's a lot of fun growing them
