well not quite yet....but it's in the works. I believe the two acts (LD 750 and LD 754) still have quite a ways to go before they're on a ballot, but what the hell...it's pretty damn exciting none the less!!!! Here's a piece of a news letter i received a while back.
So many people turned out to testify at a hearing on two Marijuana decriminalization bills in Augusta last Thursday that the legislature's Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety had to arrange for sound to be piped into two overflow rooms.
Democratic, Republican, and independent lawmakers and people from all walks of life and every part of Maine showed up to say that they don’t want to see state resources used to arrest, try, and imprison people for growing small amounts of Marijuana or possessing less than 5 oz.
The committee will make its recommendations on LD 754 "An Act To Remove Criminal Penalties for Possession of up to 5 Ounces of Marijuana"and LD 750 "An Act To Decriminalize Possession of 6 or Fewer Marijuana Plants" during a committee work session on March 28.
If your Senator or Representative sits on the Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety please call or write in support of the bill before the work session. You can find a list of committee members at http://www.maine.gov/legis/house/jt_com/crj.htm

The more America legalizes marijuana is the more proud of it I can be. Personal freedom is the greatest thing one can have and to me marijuana is a symbol of that , and I don't want the war on marijuana to be the fight of my lifetime I want it to be over soon. I want to die and know that I LIVED in a state, in a country that marijuana was legal for 20, 40,60 years. Without that I can have no peace.
-------------------- When answering a question I ask, feel free to elaborate, feel free to direct me to other threads and or internet resources. I WANT to hear good information, try to make it so I don't have to answer anymore questions. I've read a lot if I ask a question it's because I want to here more.
