you mean the way they're folded up like a taco? Is that what you mean by thin and crispy, or are they actually crispy, ie crumble when you touch them?

I can't do much without readings. I would say check your pH, if your TDS/PPM are really high without adding nutrients and its coming from your tap then your shit is volatile. I would recommend getting a water filter or letting your water aerate for a few days.
Leaf curls are usually due to pH in my experience though.

thanx for the good feedback, you may be right. i have to keep it out for a bit an put some ph down in it, cause it come out at like 9 ^ ph. an i let it set over night till it gets close to 6.5 , but i think it was to much nutes tht causedd it. an yes it was like a taco. not crispy enuf to crackle are anything. i barly changed the water today this morning on its new lighting cycle. an it looks like is getting a bit better. have yall every got it from maybe to small of a airstone feeding oxygen?

I get it all the time. It can be anything from pH, to temperatures, to merely a completely healthy plant growing super fast

IMO this happens when pH is too basic

lol do you mean by trying to control it to much? this guy at the hydroponics store said alot of them dont even watch it. cause they've seen great growth not watching constantly

Basic = Base = High pH Acidic = Acid = Low pH
The two things that control your pH. If your pH is too basic its too high. High pH curls leaves.

7.4 is way too high man.
The optimal range is 5.5-6.5. I try to keep mine right at 6.
1.4 higher then optimal in pH can stunt growth and cause nutrient lockout which is always no good.

I feel I need to clarify a bit of this post.
Those don't control pH, they are measurements of pH, what controls pH is concentration (the ratio) of H+ ions to OH- ions within the solution. pH is merely a measurement of those concentrations.
And also, low pH can curl leaves equally quick.

I just wanted to clear up what the term Basic meant so he didn't think he needed to ask the hydro store guy. I didn't feel I needed to go strictly in depth about the science of pH.
As for the pH. 7.4 is a little high, and that's probably the culprit.

That pH range is ok in soil, but for hydro, 5.5-6.5 is what you shoot for. That is what Dephect is saying.
