Cloning outdoors?

I recently found a plant from bag seed with some desirable characteristics that I would like to keep around, thing is, I don't have a veg room, or a grow room at all, is there any way to keep these genetics around without one?

Man, a few CFL's and sockets won't set you back more than $20. Its not like you need much light power just to support some rooting clones. Just rig something up quick. Hell, you could use an old cardboard box if you really had to.
-------------------- Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?

Yeah dude. Just get a humidity dome and a CFL and some peet pellets and your good to go.. You can clone outside but you need a really humid environment.

this entire thing cost me ~$50, its a box designed for transporting clothes on hangers. Only used it for around 2 weeks but it would definitely do the job for you, its 160W of CFL and a plastic floor sheet

set something up, it's a very small box though so I'm doing a test run with a thermometer in there, hopefully it won't get too hot.

The small box I used got to 50°C in a few hours, don't have a bigger box or a spare fan, Ideas?

Exhaust the heat from the box. Shouldn't take much more than a 2 inch square hole in the top of the box, depending on how many cfl's you are using. If that doesn't cool it enough, you'll most likely need a larger box or a small exhaust fan to pull the heat out quicker.

The Lights in the first one are 14 watts each (56 total), but I now use 27 watts each (108 total). And yes, that is Tyvek. It was one of my old mushroom tubs. 5 out of the 6 clones turned out very nice.

if its getting that hot maybe you should cut back the wattage. few clones 40would be way more then enough.

Thats what I'm trying to say. It doesn't take much light to root clones. You're not growing them indoors, just cloning...so don't go nuts with the lighting for no reason IMO

Thanks a lot for the help guys! Plants are already in flower though, if cloned will the clones keep flowering or revert back to veg for a while? (pretty sure it's the former)
