How many of you guys are into reading? I have never really been, but once I find something that interest me, id like to read it. Then pass it on.
I offer up a used (very used) paperback copy of Carlos Castaneda's: Journey to Ixtlan (lessons of Don Juan)
First one interested in this book, shoot me an email at machinesd @ yahoo.com and it is yours.
I'm interested in trading for similar type books, survival type books, philosophy books, ect ect
Maybe start a thing of traveling books. I know whenever I get ready to send a book off to a new home ill put my username and the year. Share the knowledge

I am! But I want to keep mine, you propose permanent trading?

doesnt have to be, in my head, I had it where the book would just travel user-to-user, then eventually probably jump out of our circle and it'd just keep moving, every owner putting their name in it, where they are from, and the date
I just ordered 3 new books.
We can do a temp trade if you want to read the book I have, or you can just have it man... Just spread it along when you are finished.

Ive been doing a good bit of reading lately but ive just been downloading ebooks
I have probably a good thousand, much more convenient than buying them, although it is much nicer to have a hard copy to hold while you read

I tried the whole ebook thing, but I read to get away from my computer and when I travel. I have a desktop so hard copies of books are a must for me. Plus I kind of want to put together my own small personal library of books on different academic subjects

I am even interested in maps. maps of national parks or of certain states. I already have a good atlas for Arizona, but I would love one for Cali, Utah, New Mexico, Idaho, or Oregon.

I have a shit ton of e-books. Some of them I have read, others I'm keeping for later.
I have a plethora of survival, chemistry, physics, music, security, programming, web design, plus a bunch of other shit.

Man I cannot sit and read a book on my computer. I would much rather the actual book in my hands. The library FTW.

I dont mind reading informational stuff on ebooks. Like survival guides and shit like that, but actual books. I need a copy. Plus you can take it anywhere.
istoner- I listed some of the stuff I am interested in. But if you have a couple books you are offering up, give me some choices and ill let you know. The Lessons of Don Juan is a great book. a must have for every library

1- Do we have an e-book thread? I did see the other book trade thread, which appears to be this: http://www.growery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/504429
2- Also the poll in that threat is 7/5 in favor of a trade.
3- I might be willing to do this. However, how much does it cost to ship a book?
If it's too much, I might have to add I'd only be willing to do it for semi-rare or harder-to-find books.

USPS has flat rate boxes for 5 bucks.
Shroomery had an e-book thread but it had to be closed due to copy-right infringement.
Still up for grabs... Carlos Castenade- Lessons of Don Juan
In these days and ages there arent really any books that are "hard to find."
I am also interested in Chemistry books.

Somewhat true which is why I said SEMI-rare and hardER to find.
I wouldn't want to send out genuinely rare stuff anyway, permanently.
Most subculture books would probably fall in line with what I'm thinking. Castaneda is more mainstream, but seems like an okay one to me, for someone who hasn't read it. Not too hard to find, but not stocked in every bookstore, either.
I'll have a look at my collection.

Just got the book "War and Peace" by Tolstoy, "Poetry, Language, and Thought" by Heidegger, and "Republic" by Plato
I dont know where to begin.... Probably with Heidegger's book since it's short. War and Peace is longer than my Bible.

Let's trade 2 books per day and see what happens.
And KP War and Peace sucked IMO. Maybe because I read it when I was 13 and could not understand all the socia-economic-politico babble.
