Exactly.  He may not "consider" himself an American, but that does not change the fact that nearly everyone in the world would consider him an American. Sounds like denial saying you aren't what nearly 100% of people consider you to be.  That is like the Dr saying hey you have a multiple personalities and you saying no.

It's just a descriptive word that has many layers.

I was born in England and then moved to France when I was an infant, so my first words weren't even English, they were French. I moved to Australia when I was ~2y/o and both my parents were Australian citizens when I was born; even though my dad was born in New Zealand (He had been living in Australia for +30years). My dad got me a passport for Aus and the UK the day after I was born, so I can live in either country.

I still call myself Australian though, this is a cool place to live when I think about it, sure I don't agree with everything the Gov does, but I don't think I know anyone who does. I don't like the new generation of Australia though, its bigoted and violent and I try my best to not be apart of it.

Sure we are all human, but we are not all American, we are not all Tall, we are not all fat, we all do not have brown eyes.  They are all descriptive words.

why would you figure someone's humanity was invalidated by their national identity?

It's like asking if a Giraffe was still part of the animal kingdom.

Accept it you are an American.  An American who doesn't agree with the idiots.

But I can go to fuckin Canada or where ever and gain the right to be a
citizen of that country if I please. Im am no more bound to the idea that
I am an american then I am bound to the idea that Im black even tho I am white haha.

Do I live in America? Yes. Do I have to consider myself an American?
Not at all. I do not just disagree with idiots but also well educated
arrogant pricks and that can be greatly generalized throughout the world
and also does not have to be bound to any specific region.

The whole shitshow is just another way to make divisions between the people.
And that is where so much trouble comes from. Actually thinking that we are
so much different that anyone else.

American does not imply anything permanent.  Moving to, or becoming a citizen of, Canada will not change that you are an American.  You will still be in North America.  And even if you did go someplace that does not encompass the term American, you would still have been one.

It seems you are only creating a fictitious definition of America, the same way that politicians and ambitious speakers do.  You are taking a relatively simple term and bastardizing it to include your own meanings.

Pretending that the word has no merit or only serves to cause social or spiritual division is bull shit too.  It is still widely used in its correct form and, despite your personal beliefs, provides a functional description for those that need one.

I read your post again and it still seems to suggest one can't recognize national identity and shared humanity, at the same time
