Though there are elements of it out there, Burning man isn't really inundated with too much "headyness".  In fact, what I always liked about the place was the fact that it attracted all types, who's main mission was to get fucking crazy in the desert

In fact, these cats, from Seattle, used to do a Molotov cocktail range, people are still operating the thunder dome, and I think Survival Research Labs still operates there.  All very "non-heady" groups

actually the Playa is pretty amazing and sunrise and sunset, and I know plenty of people that go and take no drugs.

It depends: getting geared up to spend a week in the desert, and actually participate in burning man, costs some change.  While the most expensive thing about traveling to most places in Asia would be the airfare(last time I flew to India, back in 2004, the airfare was a little over 100 bucks more than the gate fee for burning man).  The rest of the time you could get around comfortably, on ten bucks a day

I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

back in 2004, I think they were 200-250 for advanced purchase, and my round trip ticket, from NY to Delhi, was 350+ tax.

Though the Airline was pretty shady (aerosvits, or something) and we (the three Americans on the flight)had to be locked in this weird little "lobby" while we had a stop over in Uzbekistan.  Which was populated by these people that were hand cuffed to the wall, and an Iranian kid who was living in the place for like three months( the lobby, not Uzbekistan)

The ticket I just bought for BM was 340 with taxes and all.  That's the highest tier price level that I saw them offer.  So it may be the same at the door.  Though, id do a bit of research first.

It's not like the playa is housed inside a warehouse, ya know.  Why isn't the raw, natural desert as beautiful as a waterfall?  That's a rhetorical question, as it can't be answered with any truth.  I also hate to see all you fellas judge an experience you have never had.  What kind of bullshit is that?!

I mean, to say that 'nothing can top an experience i've had' is really the same kind of logic that the proponents of intelligent design use to discount the fact that science hasn't figured it out yet.

$340 is only like £200. id happily pay that to go burning man, about the same price as a weekend ticket for glastonbury.

how many days does BM go on for? i definatley seeing myself experiencing it in the future if i do a bit of travelling.

It's basically a full week.  Starts on monday 8/29 and they burn the man the following saturday.  then things wind down from there.  The most expensive part of all this is traveling the 1,000 miles to get there (and the motorhome rental).

And $350 from NY to Delhi in 2004?!!?!  i meant to comment on that earlier.  That's fucking intense.  But i guess with the treatment you received it makes sense.   That's really fucking cheep though.  I've paid more for concert tickets and flights from phoenix to tulsa.  where did you get that kind of a ticket hook up Kyuzo?

They were either just starting flights from New York, or the route going from NY to Delhi;  I honestly forget which.  Everything else was close 500+, generally nearing 600 range.  But besides the deal with the "lobby" it was a pretty fun flight.  And I never seen people get so fucking smashed while on a plane.

PS Furrowed, you and your mates going to try and set-up with an already established camp, or you guys going to do your own thing?

We are doing our own thing.  I don't think it's goign to be a theme camp or anything though.  How does it work once we get in through the gate?  I mean do they ask about your entourage then 'seat' you somewhere?  Or is it like a free for all?

I agree, there's beauty in the desert as much as there is in lakes and oceans and mountains and all.  I'm personally a water person, so I would prefer a nice lake or river to the desert, but I wouldn't hate it being there for a week.  It's all a matter of preference, and appreciating things for what they are I think.

I also plan on leaving all forms of communication in the rv in a safe or something.  The goal is for me not to know what time it is from day one until we leave.  I think it'd be pretty intense not to know the time for a week.  for someone like me who is always looking at the clock.

That would be cool as shit.  A good relief for a week would do you some good if you're that stressed/always looking at the clock.
