Can anyone ID this for me?

Posted it at the shroomery but they're not really so active in the hunting section. Its a Winchester lever action rifle, that much I know. No serial number to be found. What caliber, and what should I google to find an approximate value for this? Thanks!
Best I could do on the pics, sorry

I've got a 30-30 that looks like that. Kinda. Could be a 30-30 or maybe a .22?

I was thinkin the same thing. I guess hunting/guns/whatnots are sports too I don't really consider hunting a "sport" myself. More just shooting and eating animals.

Go to a gun store and get them to tell you. I'm sure it wouldn't take them more than 5 minutes. Don't risk loading the wrong cartridge in it. That could hurt you as well as the rifle if you shoot it.

Yeah, I could take it to a gun shop, but this was easier haha. If I can get it ID'd here, I would have.
I gotta buy the rounds anyway, so I might as well bring it with me
Thing is, its a really, really old gun AFAIK and a lot of the "etching" or "engraving" is worn down...and I can't find a serial number on it. IDK if that makes it illegal or not

Yeah, get it checked out, don't risk it. Never know, it might be worth a little bit of money anyway.
About the serial number, I'm not sure actually. I know, for example, if you get pulled over and the cops find a gun that the serial number has been filed off of, you will get in major trouble. Maybe talk to a cop. I've done that a few times about my guns. See them at a gas station or something and go up to them and ask them. I wouldn't recommend doing it stoned as fuck with a quarter in your pocket or anything, but hopefully you get where I'm coming from. Look a little bit more first though, I'm sure that serial number is up there somewhere.

As long as you have the bill of sale, you are fine. Or if you have it registered with the state you currently live in
Were you able to find a date on it? That could really help in ID'ing
That said, I dont know much about older rifles

No bill of sale. It was inherited. IDK if its registered, I didn't know rifles had to be?
I think this qualifies as an "antique" anyway.

gun laws vary greatly from state to state, but im pretty sure every state makes you register a weapon unless it is an antique and inoperable.

Well we have rules on carrying weapons, but we don't have requirements to register them. Private purchase and trade is allowed without any documentation. So I really don't know. My state has really loose gun laws though, and they're trying to pass an open carry law as well.

we can also privately buy/sell guns without documentation, as well as open carry. and the only thing you've gotta do to conceal is fill out an application to your local police chief for why you want to conceal - they pass everyone who's never been convicted of a felony.

Yeah we can keep them in say a glove box, but not in plain site unless in a case without a CW permit. But you're not allowed to carry it on you without a concealed weapons permit and you can't have it out in the open.
Hopefully they pass the open carry law.

wow that's weird. you can conceal them without a cw permit, but you can't open carry them without a cw permit. that's odd.

Well you can't conceal them on your person, and can only conceal them someplace "securely encased" which in Florida law can mean your glove compartment, whether or not it's locked. There's also further provisions if the gun isn't readily accessible that allows you to conceal them in your car.

Idk I know a lot of people who describe themselves as open minded "liberals", yet they're anti-gun. They live in this fantasy world that if we were to get rid of guns there would be less crime, violence, and war. Guns make our country quite secure in the event of an invasion, and are there to make the government think twice. For threats foreign and domestic.
Our founding father all too well knew the risk of tyranny, therefore arming their citizens was the best way to keep government in check and guard against further attacks.

ahhh you're thinking about, what i would consider, the typical SanFran or LosAngeles liberal, a complete fool blinded by their own pompous beliefs of self-righteousness and societal values. personally, i know a good amount of "liberals" from my hometown who actively shoot guns and/or hunt for fun. my friend's dad actually hosts his own hunting show on the sportsman channel . but, i also lived at the foot of a mountain range where political ideals were a bit estranged.
