Anyone ever been to one of these?
The national is gonna be in Washington this year, and I was thinking about bringing some food and barter items and living out there for a few weeks.

Been to a bunch of them between 91 and 96. I have some friends who still go, but they said the vibe changed around 2000. Might go again someday to see if I can bump in to old friends.
I loved Dead shows, but these were always so much better because almost never had any assholes. After 87 the Dead shows seemed to start attracting assholes from local colleges and inner city thug fucks looking to rape/steal. I don't think those people liked the Rainbow gathering camping and they were made to leave when spotted.

You know, it was in New Mexico last year but I didn't go. I don't know of anyone who is a part of that crowd. I bet my friends here haven't even heard of the rainbow family/gatherings. It would be a cool thing to experience. I will do burning man first though.
I thought you'd be too  for that kind of shit DD.

If I go I'm not going to have any expectations of what might happen, just see for myself what its all about. Burning man always sounded cool, but this is a lot more convenient of a trip.

Old and young people go. Some families take their kids. It is definitely a "love in" kind of thing. Might see some nudity. Lots of drumming and dancing. Community meals and projects. Definitely a lot of psychedelics present.

It's not just about being a hippy, or a dirty hippy, or whatever.
I think in the spirit of the event, all peoples from every walk of life should be accepted based on their ideals and actions.
Ideals don't pay the beals.

I've got mad love for all people, so maybe.  I certainly don't know anyone who would go with me though, and I can't imagine it would be very fun to go alone. I mean, I know I'd meet a lot of people, but I'd still want someone there I knew, ya know?

Don't get me wrong, everything is extremely hippy about the place, and you get those cats who are hippier than though. But the crowd is pretty diverse and it's a place anyone should be able to have a good time at

i would love to go to a gathering. but ive seen alot of busts there... and that ruins the good vibes  i love music festivals though and alot of em that ive been to always has family there
