 images randomly disappearing

so i've noticed this over the past month or so, especially with the POTM threads.
i know the pictures are still uploaded, but the thumbnail preview will say "picture has been deleted by user" and will also say that when clicked on. now, i'm sure sometimes the picture is actually gone, but i know this isn't always the case as this same thing happened to a few of my own pictures in one of the POTM threads and even the threads they were originally posted in but when i would go into my gallery they were still there and accessible.
i dunno what's up with this, maybe i am just crazy, but it's happened again in this month's POTM Nomination thread and in the POTM Voting Booth thread. like i mentioned earlier, this happened last month as well, but i was able to fix it since they were my own images that vanished. i cannot fix these as i do not have access to either of these users' galleries, but this really kind of skews and screws the POTM threads up quite a bit.

I see all of the images in those two threads which is weird because I've also noticed what you're talking about..
I went expecting not to see some of the images but I do.
Correction: I went and clicked on one and it says no image or has been removed.
So it shows the thumbnail but not the full image.

that is so fucking weird. i cleared all my history and cookies and it's still showing that they are missing.
