Weed and School... the poll.

Allright im going back to school after being homeless. We all know what it means: class, teachers, homework and all. It's a way of life I left 2 and half years ago. BTW im going to get a degree in medical nursing.
I've quit smoking weed daily but I get cravings sometimes. Lucky me I still haven't quit tobacco. I can afford smoking and going to school. But what would happen?
I'm a kind of smoke after class going back home guy. No intense 4h smoking sessions, im mean, i need to get shit done

Theres a time and place for things. I spent most of my high school years higher than a kite. I finished by some miracle, but if I were paying for an education and really wanted to focus on learning I prolly wouldn't smoke in the mornings. Thats just me.
But theres nothing wrong with chillaxing after your responsibilities are taken care of of course
That said, I voted yes its hard. But thats me assuming you mean burning all morning and then packing up and going to class. Your question wasn't worded so well dood.
-------------------- Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?

why would it be hard to smoke weed and go to school? maybe if your stoned in class everyday it could affect your studies, but if your talking about recreational smoking outside of school hours, how could it affect your school work?
you quit the wrong substance imo

You are probably going to have to make a decision to stop at some point. Most nursing schools test students as soon as they start interacting with patients. If you get a job in nursing you will be subject to random piss tests.
I have two friends who are nurses. They both still eat psilocybin mushrooms, but neither uses cannabis. One is at a nursing home and another is at a hospital. Both employers have 0 tolerance. One positive test and you are fired and they have the legal right to inform anyone calling for a job reference why they fired you.

Everyone's different. I have no problem with school and weed. Others do though.
I don't go to school high though, unless it's an art or music class, so that might have something to do with it.

you know what i did in english class? I came to class stoned out of my mind every day, i chugged vodka in the back of class, i put dead fish in the ceiling tiles. i put a gallon of old milk and orange juice in the file cabinet before winter vacation. i brought snakes in a tied up sweater and let them loose during class. i didnt go to school to learn, i went because i had to. i didnt care, and i didn't fucking listen to that stupid bitch. and i still don't fucking care. i tore the pages out of her books and burned them, and threw away all the books in the class, two books per day.

i agree that tabbacco is going to kill you, if your going to stop weed then why the fuck woouldnt you stop cigs, you need to switch your thinking, quit that tabbacco, use your weed to relax only AFTER your done with your skool work. itll work.

Most medical professionals get tested for tobacco too, unless they work in a private office or have their own practice. At least it is that way here. Makes their insurance cheaper.

I honestly wouldn't have aced my finals like I did. Had I not been stoned Smoking and studying works for me and lots of coffee as well
That being said, you just have to know yourself. In terms of your smoking habits and adjust accordingly to your school work. You gotta find that right balance that works for you.

I had no problem being high at school, my highschool was pretty open and alternative, so kids selling/using weed was no headline, and most teachers really didn't care unless you were sitting there with glowing red eyes drooling onto your book smelling like you just fell out of a cypress hill concert.
My problem was when I would go get high at recess/lunch and end up saying something like "well... I'm 2mins late to class already. Might as well skip it and sit here smoking bongs all day"
If you go to school because you want to become an educated productive member of society, then you will. If you go to school because your dealers go to the same school, you're gonna sit in the park and smoke bongs.

Green pub thread.

Just make sure you have your work separated from play and you'll be fine. You gotta know when its time to hit the books or time to hit the bong. Know your limits and what works for you. Some people I know can't mix weed and school at all and others can't even think about school unless they're stoned. I think I fall somewhere in the middle, and it is very dependent on the situation. i.e. what class, the time, upcoming tests, homework, etc
