Wow. I really love your plants and your setup.

Any tips for a first timer wanting to use ScrOG method?

The best tip I can give is just to experiment with your training. The length of time you train is really important. During my first grow, I didn't get the plants under screen until the first day of flowering. I then trained until the stretch was over. This caused quite a few smaller buds. Instead of nice big ones that tower over the screen. So this time I decided to quit the training a bit earlier. Here is what I foudn works best.

Veg your plants and get the screen over them as soon as they are tall enough and start training the plant to cover your whole screen. You will soon notice that the branches other than the main shoot start to really bulk up and grow just as much or more than your main shoot. I do not top at all for this reason. Seems like a waste of a bud site.

You want to veg them until your screen is about 70% full. Once it is that full flip your lights and watch the stretch. Keep the plants trained along the screen for the first week to fill it out the rest of the way. By the end of your first week of flower you should start letting the branches grow above the screen. For the rest of the stretch just try to keep them all the same height the best you can. I am still working on that myself as you can see I have a lot of different heights there.

I also strongly suggest LSTing. It comes in real close to Scroging w/o having to have a big screen in your room where you can move your plants around at all. I only LST the first few weeks of veg. Just as soon plants are tall enough bend them over and tie them down to the edge of your pot. Soon all of your side branch shoots will get horomones to get beefed up. You get the same affect as topping a plant except you don't lose a bud site or the recovery time. Once all the branches are going togther you can untie the main shoot and they will all grow up in sort of a lop sided bush.

This is my first try with it and had mixed results. Some plants turned out really well with 4+ main colas while a few of them only got one main cola still with a bunch of small ones near the bottom. But I am sure practice makes perfect.

Hope that helps
~Peace

Thanks for all that. It helps.
From what reading and researching I have done so far, I think I will want to take your advice and go with LST as opposed to trimming or FIM. It would seem you can get the same or better results without hurting your plants.
I try to look really close at the screen pictures. When you train them with the screen, do you just kinda stick a branch or leaf clusters under there?
I really love your pictures and you log. I did a search on ScrOG and I am glad this one came up.

That's great that your wife is supportive of your hobby.

Just one question at this time. What do you mean when you say "I don't let the plant come above the screen until I flip".
It sounds to me like you just train the plants under the screen, but the "flip" I don't understand.

Thanks
