Ain't lying when I tell you these plants are averaging 2" or more a day. Like holy-fuck, can't sing the praises of 1000w enough. I suppose I should give some credit to Fox Farm as well. Anyway, the proof of the pudding, etc, I'll post some more pics soon. I'm probably going to have to hang a net or something to keep them from falling over later. Well happy Turkey Day Go Pats!

A moment of silence for my clones please..... Dunno, maybe they will pull through. They were looking good until today when I noticed they have all taken on a decidedly lemon-yellow color. Think I read somewhere that this means they are putting it all into root production..I think it looks like jaundice and death. My kind of luck. Honestly, I should have been more prepared and made a DWC or aeroponic cloner or something. Was only thinking about the present grow and not the future, live and learn man.
Had to raise the light today, that's all she wrote, no more vertical space and 8-10 weeks to go. The HPS runs pretty cool though so I still have a few feet of grow space. I raised it all the way up because two plants on the corners were starting to get left behind. May have to hang some supplemental CFLs or something.
We knew the SLH was going to be a tall plant but no one on the East Coast (in my circle of friends anyway) has ever tried the stuff. Apparently it is a popular smoke in the Vegas area. So having won the Cannibus Cup so many times we couldn't resist trying it. I did some topping early on and LST midway through but the hight of these things is starting to get out of hand for the space that I have. Will see what happens in the end before making any judgments about growing it again.

Update: Clones seem to be rallying a bit. Definitely getting some root growth now. I think the temp was getting too high in the cabinet and they had dried out. Gave them a small soaking and they look like they are doing better. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Starting to get little hairies on the mommas going into week 2 of flower. Never did get the filter running, my basement stinks to high heaven. Gonna get a new vortex fan next time around.

Quick Update: JFC! Gonna have to move into a barn before much longer. These plants are growing ridiculously fast and tall. The system is still operating amazingly well, I have massive roots but no clogs to date (knock on wood). I know you are not supposed to train during flowering but if anyone has any suggestions about controlling the hight of these suckers it would be most appreciated.

I have the same problem when it comes to hydro/aeroponics, a good way to combat your plants from stretching is to place your light on ropes (or chains ect.) and follow the height of your plants rather then having a stationary light.

Thanks Mike, I had no stretch at all until they went into flower, now they are absolute monsters. My light is 18" above the tallest plant now and I don't see any signs of things slowing down. Gotta come up with a plan soon or the tops are going to get burned
Update on clones: They're not only merely dead, they're really most severely dead. Too much temperature fluctuation in my cabinet I think. Oh well, try, try again. So at this point I either have to get more beans for the next go around or try re-vegging the mothers after harvest.

When I experienced my first stretching problem, I tied the tops down to hooks on the ground.

I tied them down once during vegging just to keep the canopy uniform, I never had a stretching problem until I switched the lights to 12/12. I also went from MH to HPS at that time. Will tying them down during flower hurt the plant? I was under the impression that you should not train during flowering. Anyone have any thoughts on this, I am running out of head space fast. I expect the tallest shoot is going to hit the light in the next 24-48hrs, and I have at least 8 weeks left to go!

I know people say not to train in flower because you want all the plants energy going into bud production instead of focusing on recovery. Doesn't seem like you really have much of an option right now though. And my guess is that the sooner you train into flower the better. Goodluck Goombah and those plants are looking great man

I don't consider it training plus if you have no choice it is better than something like topping. I don't damage any part of the plant just tie the top down with one string.

Clone Update: So I decided to get off my lazy ass tonight and give the clones a proper burial since I pulled the plug on them a few days ago. Low and behold six of them have big root systems and new growth amidst all the dead leaves PSYCH! So my 1/3 success rate needs improvement but at least all is not lost, it was a pleasant surprise.
