Hi there,
I'm hoping you can help me save this little guy. I'm guessing its a pH problem but any advice would be great. I did do a search for similar problems but couldn't find any answers.
Soil Growers: 1. Are you growing from seed or clones? Seed 2. How old are your plants? About 2 weeks 3. How tall are your plants? Ranging from 1/2" to 1 1/2" 4. What size containers are they planted in? Half a large coke bottle per seedling 5. What is your soil mix? Potting mix from the supermarket 6. How often do you water and what type of water do you use? Every morning or every second morning using tap water 7. What is the pH of your water? Probably around 8!!! 8. What kind of fertilizer do you use and what is its NPK ratio? None 9. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything? None 10. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? (HPS, MH, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent "plant lights") Sunlight mostly indirect 11. How close are your lights to the plants? N/A 12. What size is your grow space in square feet? Sitting on a desk in a spare room 13. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space? Temp around 20 C Humidity maybe around 70% Dont have a hygromoter 14. What is the pH of the soil? Around 7 My pH meter doesnt seem to work very well in all of the pots 15. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? No 16. How much experience do you have growing? Not much!!!!

1.) Poor choice of soil 2.) Not enough light 3.) Watering too much

I agree with everything Coda said and would add
4.) you need to know the pH of your water. The pH of my tap is 8.8

Thanks, What can I do to improve the soil(add nutrients) or should I buy more expensive soil?
I will get a light today.
pH of my water was 7.2 this morning and around 8 last night.

You would be better off building your own soil or buying a better bag then trying to amend what you have.

That's a little high, want to bring that down to around 6.5-6.8

I bought some better potting mix, repotted them, put them under a light 14hrs a day and watered well with 6.0 pH water.
They all seem to be looking alot happier!!!!

I am a new to this whole thing so take what I say with that in mind. The major thing that I have found with my grow is ph is huge. its crucial I all but killed 7 plants because I was giving them water with a ph that was to high. If at all possible go to wally world by yourself one of those five gallon water bottles for like 10 bucks and then hit the water machine on your way out the door. Most places you can get good RO water for $1 per 5 gallons. Good clean water and the ph is usually right on. Not to mention its cheap and at this stage 5 gallons will last you a while. Water less. try every 3 to 4 days. Some one told me to let them wilt a little that tells you that the plant needs water. Finally those babys need light. the more light they get the more they will grow and the healthier they will be. Good luck bro.

I say that is some damn good advice. One thing, when to water? I would say not to water every three to four days, too many factors, but only when the plants need it. I agree about the slightly wilting of plants. Do this and you will gradually get to know your plants, and by weight and feel you will know when they need water. So they wont have to wilt long.

3-4 days is a reference for me. I have found that on day 3 they are usually looking for that water, day 4 they really want it bad. Also something else to note. Down the line... once your plants grow more they will consume more water. this generally means that your feedings will become more frequent or you will be feeding them more water then when you initially started the grow. I have also found that foliar feeding is great. I have read posts where people swear by it and others where some feel it is not nessisary. I lightly spray my plants with just clean ph correct water on the 3rd day. It pushes them over nicely into the 4th day where they get a normal feeding. Doing this I have also cut my fungis gnats down.
