You should consider actually reading that article. The life was found ON EARTH, in Mono Lake, California. It simply has different base structures than almost all other life on Earth, hence why it's news.

I did read it. Multiple times. I thought it was saying that arsenic was found in Mono Lake.
And it's unlike any other discovered life form in that it doesnt have the typical "organic" make-up

This proves that life can exist in another given world without "our" ratio of elements.. So even if a world doesnt look like earth it can have life!
Too bad life outside of earth wont affect us at all given the distance

Well, I was probably a little broad with that statement, but I still reckon it makes you 'dumber'. And when I say that, I don't mean by any means that it reduces intellect, or intelligence, or any of that. I mean it just makes you more likely to act stupid. By that I mean confuse simple tasks, such as driving home, or to your mates. Or simple comprehension, since you're usually too busy contemplating the beginnings of the universe to concentrate on the most important line in the article.
