I wanna go back in time
    #500724 - 11/24/10 11:46 PM (14 years, 2 days ago)

I want to go on a holiday to America, but I want to go anywhere from 0ad - 1300, preferably during the last half of winter.

I would have a horse or something and travel around meeting some of the more substantial Indian tribes, staying with them for a few weeks, depending on how much I'm enjoying myself. I'll start out in North Carolina, and meet up with the Cherokee Indians, hang out in their cave dwellings and explore the Great smokey mountains.

Then I would move South West into Alabama/Mississippi where I would meet the Choctaw Indians before continuing on to Texas which is when I would get to meet the Apache's. I would stay there for a while because they really interest me, along with the land they are settled on (Texas through to Arizona). I would hunt Bison and other game, then learn about their culture by living with them for a while.

Then its straight North along the Utah Colorado boarder into Navajo land where I'll take up growing corn, beans and squash before learning how to heard, kill and prepare sheep, which was a main part of their diet. I really want to camp in or around Monument Valley for a few nights.

After a while I would continue to meet up with the Ute tribe, helping them hunt Beavers and collect wild plants and herbs. I would want to stay in some Anasazi ruins for a night or two as well, before continuing North into Wyoming.

Once in Wyoming it will be hard to tell which tribe I would come into contract with first, but odds are it would either be the Cheyanne or Lakota people, either way I'm gonna be hunting bears and fishing the rivers while growing some more Maize, which is awesome IMO

Once I'm done there its North again into Montana where I'll be finishing my holiday. I'll meet the Crow Indians and live in one of their famously massive tipi's for a while, hunting some Bison to hopefully build one myself, but also getting myself soem tasty mountain sheep to nom on at diner. I'm going to stay in Montana for a few months, as it will be the final state I visit on my trip, but only after I continue forward North to meet the Blackfoot Tribe.

The Blackfoot tribe's which are actually made up of three tribes (Northern Peigan and Kainai Nation of Alberta, Canada and the Blackfeet people of Montana) where I would chill out next to the Montana river, then make my way up to the Rocky Mountains for some hiking and hunting. By the time I get to Montana it should be mid Summer, and that way I can finish my trip by witnessing one of the Blackfoot peoples traditions of a whole nation gathering, in which all 3 tribes would converge on one place and trade/exchange stories as well as just catch up with their buddies and dance/eat/drink the night away. I would eventually leave America and travel back to my own time after staying there for a looooong time, possibly into the winter again so I can see the beauty of the Montana river covered in snow, sitting next to a fire.

I would love to go on this trip not only to meet and learn about Native American's, but also too see the former beauty of America when it was a virgin land, untouched by 'modern' civilization and technology. Anyone interested in coming with is more than welcome, you just need to bring your own clothes (Winter and summer) some food to survive on in between tribe's, a tent and something to sleep on, some weed, lighters and a time machine wouldn't go astray either.

Next holiday I want to go live with the Mayans :awesomenod:

P.S this trip will probably take 10months to a year or more, so be ready for that.

Nah, but thanks for asking. The only Indians I want to see are at the casino. If you wanna time travel to say, the Roman Empire, I'm game for that.

Take one to smoke and one to trade, that's what I'd do, they love to trade and my pipe would blow their socks off. I don't even know if Bud was in the U.S at that stage so we might be the first to introduce them to Marijuana :awehigh:

You're exvucused this time, but for future reference, you should really tighten up on the US History.  The US is the greatest country ever and we rule all and are always right and never wrong and have the right to fuck with any other country whenever we want

So when was is actually introduced to the U.S? or was it growing naturally there already? I know that for a long time Indians were just smoking a species of tobacco with a much higher Nicotine content like Nicotiana rustica

Also there is debate whether the Spaniards were the first to bring cannabis to North America.

It holds my water admirably, sometimes even reflecting the sun in beautiful patterns. If I should tap it, it has a lovely ring to it. But when I put this glass bong on the shelf and the wind knocks it over or my elbow brushes it off the table and it falls to the ground and shatters, I say, ‘Of course.’ When I understand that the glass is already broken, every moment with it is precious.”[/quote]

According to DNA studies, the Native Americans were actually Mongolian, coming over the Bering Strait 11,000 years ago, so they would have probably brought seeds with them from Asia, if it wasn't here already. Jamaicans called it Ganja cuz it's named after the Ganges River in India, where it was thought to originate.

There were rumors of a strain of ganja that was taken from India, then grown in Ethiopia and was black in color... perhaps one of those purple strains that you can cultivate black, but it was claimed to grow naturally. Humans were also making long sea voyages as early as 800,000 years ago, so they probably came bearing gifts of the things they thought were special, which would include inebriating substances. Plus seeds of foreign plants would fall off vessels, horses, other grains that were packaged together.

I'll go on your tour of Native Americana if you'll go back even farther in time with me, like 40,000 years, to a time before agriculture & written language.

Yer, going back in time sure would be great T-Rex:smile:

I'm really looking forward to chilling with aboriginal people and learning their tricks.

I figured i'd just stick to going to one place in the Amazon so i can get to know the people and their language better.

If i could travel back in time to a certain place, it would be in Australia. Somewhere where the weather is nice, such as Queensland. Fuck Melbourne:crazy2:

I choose Australia because so little is known about its aboriginal culture, and there is next to no information on their shamanic practice, if it even existed. They could have sourced DMT from certain Acacias and there may even be some shamanic plants in the dessert which are we don't know about. So little is known because the indigenous Australians were massacred so the future inhabitants of Australia would no nothing but the slave culture we are forced to live by.

about the discussion over weed probably being here already, I'd probably agree.

If weed was on earth during the pangea the plant is pretty damn durable imo. It is very possible it was always on the continent after the split. And don't we have ditch weed that grows wild here also, was that brought over or native?

As far as going back in time goes. I would probably go back to different spots during the same time period or a few different time periods.

I would like to goto egypt during its prime when they used chariots, slingers, etc.

I'd checkout some other civilizations too including, sumerian, carthaginians, romans, hittites, greeks, chosen, and a few others that I'm interested in, if possible atlanteans to bring back that knowledge of what they really were if they existed.

Going back to egypt during those days I would find out how they used the lotus exactly and what for exactly and bring that knowledge back with me along with how the pyramids were built.

Some guy in florida moved huge rocks by himself with no machines trying to find out how they built the pyramids and he came up with something that had to do with magnetic fields or something and made it easy to life large ass blocks. I forget what it was exactly but I think it was originally in homestead. People think he may have found out how but he wrote everything ina  code only he understands and never shared the secret.

Just went and grabbed a link to the above
http://paranormal.about.com/od/moremadscience/a/coral-castle-secrets.htm
When I was reading about it a while ago I seen a video on it, pretty damn impressive shit. The  man moved some blocks nearly twice the size of stones used at the pyramid of giza by himself, 35 tons.
