I know their are also organizations that donate MMJ to vets who either can't obtain it legally in their state or for vets who can not afford it (how sad is that )
From my own personal experience I can tell you that the VA doctors (some of them anyway) will not tell a patient to stop using MJ if they are already smoking and getting relief from their symptoms. However, in this state, doctors can not legally advise a patient to start using MJ.
Overall, the care I have seen patients receive from local VA hospitals is shamefully lacking. The public should be outraged.

Most antidepressants take weeks before thier effecacy can be determined. If the drug doesn't work (or has intolerable side effects)then the patient has to be weened off and tried on something else. If someone gets paranoid from MJ at least you will know right away and it will wear off well before the patient starts harboring thoughts of killing his family and stuffing the bodies in a duffle bag.
