you know what i did in english class? I came to class stoned out of my mind every day, i chugged vodka in the back of class, i put dead fish in the ceiling tiles. i put a gallon of old milk and orange juice in the file cabinet before winter vacation. i brought snakes in a tied up sweater and let them loose during class. i didnt go to school to learn, i went because i had to. i didnt care, and i didn't fucking listen to that stupid bitch. and i still don't fucking care. i tore the pages out of her books and burned them, and threw away all the books in the class, two books per day.

A few of those things I was too old for, but most of it was spot on. Like, I didn't watch Doug or Rugrats or play with pogs. It seemed like the tail end of Gen X, beginning of Gen Y. At the same time, there were no Razor Scooters or Pokemon, so it wasn't full Gen Y.

I remember being stereotypical Generation X with my plaid shirt, jeans with holes in them, shaggy shoulder length hair, chronic marijuana addiction, lack of goals. Then I'd see Generation Y kids riding their shiny little scooters with their bright yellow Pokemon backpacks, playing their Gameboys and trading pogs and think, "What the fuck is the world coming to?"
You guys seemed really materialistic back then.
