So far it's
42% of the voters for it
49% of the voters against.
The rest uncounted.
The news is interviewing some girl at the prop 19 headquarters and she has pretty much admitted defeat. "At least we got a lot of people out to vote that wouldn't have and got a lot of votes for the democrats".
Update: it's over it lost

Last I saw they only had about 2% of the vote in. Hopefully things will improve...fingers crossed on this one.

Prop 19 people already announced defeat. I have the Sacramento channels tuned in and KCRA is calling it a "resounding defeat".

Damn...I really hate that they're calling it a defeat with so little of the actual results in. I hope they're basing those calls on exit polls, which were hopefully incredibly inaccurate for the sake of our magnificent plant.

I'm right there with ya for good reasons and bad.
Good reasons: people should have the right to do what they want. Good for making it even easier for people that really need it. Good for people that don't really need it and want to smoke.
Bad Reasons: I wanted to line my pockets with cash.

I hear you, Magash. I think there's obviously enough evidence that MJ doesn't cause all of the problems people think it does, and yet ignorance still prevails. There's so much to benefit from legalizing cannabis, and I know you probably would have been able to make bank off of selling seeds.
I don't think I've been this disappointed about anything in a long time...

I've been following CNN's results for the past hour or so, and they've been reporting those same numbers (aside from the % of precincts) for pretty much that entire time.
I wonder how the media will spin the results of this.

There, there. It's gonna be ok, you want a cookie?
Country still isn't ready apparently. There's still that "Omg it's reefer madness!" stigma attached to cannabis. Doesn't really change much though, dealers will still make money, stoners will still smoke.

I'd take Magash's word on it. He lives right in the heart of it, and I'm sure he has a vested interest in it and is getting results by the minute. CNN is probably a little behind on that one I would think.

I'm all over them too, although it's starting to get late here so there's a decent chance I might just go to sleep considering how things are looking.

True that. Just because the rest of the US isn't ready to blaze doesn't mean the rest of us will stop.
