corn fields are iffy
the plants will get good sunshine and fertilizer, but might also be sprayed with pesticides that you don't want to smoke, or herbicides which will kill your plant outright.
on top of this, instead of planning your harvest around when your plant is done, you need to do it according to when the corn will be chopped in order not to lose everything.
my opinion is that it would be easier to find a much better spot without all the hassle.

im currently in a corn field, and i like it. just be careful for spider mites, know what to look for. also, know whether or not they harvest at all. Im not sure if mine do, or if theyjust keep it for a tax write off. I'm planting two more in pots and sticking them around the area soon though, to see whether or not it'll be better.

be careful because corn fields often get fly byes which can lead to the destruction of your crop.

A flyby won't catch 2 or 3 plants randomly spaced out. And if you're planting 40 plants right next to each other in the middle of a corn field you're kind of a moron to start with.

every year around me people get popped because they leave the plants in the field too long! Farmers around me don't use aerial dusters, so when the corn is about 2-3 feet tall, the field is left alone to it's maturity. Up here, they use time release UREA, and of course Anhydrous ammonia injected 18 inches deep. which will last for many weeks into the hot months, with limited rain. While pots allow ease of movement, in ground can be risky. But the quality of the in ground plants are superb!!! Just have to get there before the helicopter flies over. My buddy had DEA dressed in black come right out of the field to his house!!! Luckily they couldn't pin it to him.

The county I live in just issued their annual watch bulletin for people growing outdoors.
They ask that all citizens do their part to help stop the illegal growing operations and help stop illegal drug use.
Namely they said to be wary of parked cars near corns fields and near forested areas!!!
Just thought I'd share this with you guys. Won't be long till the black bird's flyin overhead around my county. wish me luck and happy smokin!

Nah, they'll just divert the money from schools and community-outreach programs. No biggie.
I like large outdoor parks, with a large off-trail hike to a highly wooded, thorned area with a nice few groups of clearings. I have a friend who began creating spots for small ~10 plant outdoor patches on public land back in 2004, now he's completely set for years.
The only drawback is the hour long hike round-trip. But that's really not a drawback, just an awesome excuse for a hike.

man I don't think so, cuz if they spotted me and my babies, they'd have come rolling up the driveway.
They can't land on your property without a warrant... but they can call in the spot and usually within minutes around here the place would be crawling with guys dressed in black holding machine guns.
I think I am safe for now... LOL My heart sure was beating though!

Thank you. The carbon filter makes my shed not reek of poot. eBay has herb dryer for $200+ and I was going to buy one but the people here inspired me to make my own. I ended up using a cpu fan and extension that fit nicely. 2 Plants up there BTW. and yes... they were the smallest ones. The big plants are HUUUUUGE.

I was graced a few years back with a beautiful place to grow, I have had crops of 500 plants but now I only have 50. It is 4800acres of private land that can't be flown over and is totally remote.

Ya, I'm going to grow there next year for its finally summer sadly. Its been sold and bought, soon to be developed. So next summer will be the motherload and then its done. I am planning on having a vote/raffle to give each winner its own special spot, like someone had a special strain they made and I would have people vote on the best, like the top 10 or 20 strains. Then I would grow them and the "donater" would get back more of there seeds and a detailed grow log with pics and scientific research done on it, like cross certain traits to improve there plant for instance. Pretty much a reason they would want to donate tons of seed.
