 Hefe's back. 250w MH/HPS closet LST jungle (COMPLETED)

Seeds:
-4 heady bagseed (one supposedly Maui Wowie) - All 4 beautiful females.
-6 midgrade bagseed - 5 were female and force flowered from seed.
Soil/Nutes:
-Fox Farm Ocean Forest in 3gal square pots (heady) and 16oz solo cups (midgrade).
-One of the heady bagseed was grown in shitty $2 soil from Kmart as a test to show the benefits of quality soil (You can really see the difference).
-Pureblend Pro Grow / Pureblend Pro Bloom / Liquid Karma
Lighting:
-250w MH for ~3 weeks of vegging.
-250w HPS for flowering.
-42w CFL above force flowered plants.
The germed seeds were planted in their pots 9/1/10. 3 of the 4 plants were LST'd producing between 4 and 8 tops per plant.
(There are 6 solo cups in this picture - 1 out of those 6 was a male and was destroyed immediately leaving 5 females)
The lights were flipped to 12/12 on 9/25/10 and the plants are looking and smelling beautiful. The supposed Maui Wowie is really exploding with crystal production and smelling fruity as hell.
One plant seems to be mainly Sativa, as it continues its stretch while the 3 others have all been finished with their stretch for awhile now. Also the buds are much farther behind than the buds on the 3 other plants. In order to keep the taller plant on the same level as the others, a supercropping technique was used for the two tallest tops
The force flowered plants are looking decent for only being fed water and being in 16oz solo cups. Not expecting much from these, but a few grams from each would suffice for sure.

Harvest is expected for all plants besides the Sativa around Thanksgiving, with the Sativa harvest happening about 2-3 weeks later. Should have started the log earlier and taken more pictures, but the veg stage is boring anyway. I'll keep it up to date throughout the rest of the grow.

The Sativa is just exploding with growth. I supercropped it yesterday and its already turned up toward the light and grown another couple inches. I'm going to have to tie it down pretty soon so it doesn't get burned.
Plants are all looking great though. The Maui Wowie is so fucking frosty. I get hard just looking at it, not to mention smelling my fingers after fondling her.

Ya I started using PBP after Magash suggested it a few years ago. Always had great results.
The Sativa grew up past the light again, even after supercropping, so I bent the main stem again in a different place to keep the canopy somewhat level. I figure the Sativa will need to flower about 3 more weeks than the rest of the plants so it'll have plenty of time to heal and kick up the bud production.
The Maui Wowie's trich production is outrageous. Crystals going out all the way to the tips of the smaller fan leaves.

And 2 days later the Sativa buds are just blowing up. The supercrop wounds are already healed into nice big knuckles, and i decided to give it another little bend to keep her canopy nice and even.
Coming up on 6 weeks of flowering, tomorrow is day 39.
I'm hoping to harvest by Thanksgiving, but I'm waiting til they're good and ready.
Then the Sativa and the force flowered plants will have the closet all to themselves until Christmas, for my happy holiday harvest.
I purchased a $20 closet air ionizer to help with the smell and it's worked wonders so far.
Gonna wake up tomorrow just before the lights come on and snap some good pictures without the HPS light to fuck up the color. I'll pull out each plant individually to get some better angles.

43 days of flowering. Looks like the Maui Wowie and Kmart soil plant will be the first to be harvested. They've got about 20% brown orange pistils and the other 2 plants have none so far.
My guess on harvest times..
Maui Wowie and Kmart: 2-3 weeks
Uknown Heady: 3-4 weeks
Force Flowered from seed: 4-5 weeks
Sativa: 4-6 weeks
Will probably start flushing the Maui and Kmart one day this week and then continue watering them with R/O or distilled water until harvest, giving them a drought for the last 5-7 days.
The Uknown Heady and Sativa will continue to get Bloom + Liquid Karma, and the Force Flowered plants will continue to get straight h2o.
I haven't decided what to do with the trimmings. I'm going to dry and cure all buds including popcorn buds. I'm thinking about doing an ISO wash on the majority of the trimmings and using the rest for a small batch of brownies.
Will update with pictures whenever I get my lazy ass around to it.

Added a 13w CFL about 2 inches from one of the Maui Wowie tops last night. Every little bit helps.
Anyone with a micro grow that doesn't have proper ventilation, I strongly recommend a closet air ionizer. $20 shipped online and it has completely taken care of the smell, unless of course you're in the closet.

The Maui Wowie is looking as delicious as ever, at about 30-40% amber pistils at day 52 of 12/12. I'd say she has about a week and a half to two weeks left.
The Kmart soil plant is about half the size of the others, and wasn't LST'd, so she's a little runt. Looking like she'll yield around 10g, which is more than I expected. A lot of her leaves are yellowing and drying out, but her buds are covered in trichs. She'll be harvested along with the Maui Wowie regardless of whether she's fully ready or not. She just needs to get the fuck out of the way so the Sativa can explode.
Looks like the Unknown Heady is growing some foxtails on her main cola. I was hoping one of the plants would have this trait, so I'm pretty excited. Barely any amber pistils on her, so I'm thinking she still has 3-4 weeks.
The Sativa has been supercropped a total of 6 times, and continues to grow up past the light with swelling buds. This thing is gonna be a monster once the first two plants are harvested and she has a little more space in the closet.
The 5 force flowered plants are hanging in there. 4 are about 9 inches tall while one is only about 5 or 6 inches. 4/5 of the plants have this weird leaf twist going on, which I'm thinking is more than likely because they're rootbound as fuck. I was curious as to what the yield would be on plants force flowered from seed in solo cups, so I won't be transplanting them. They'll probably be harvested along with the Unknown Heady in about 3.5 weeks.
I'll get a few shots up here of the Foxtailing on the Unknown Heady, and probably a few other pictures.

Decided to get the Kmart soil plant out of the closet early so the Maui Wowie can get as much as light as possible during her last few days.
Pulled exactly 7g dry off the Kmart soil plant, which is honestly more than I expected, and gives me really high hopes for the other 3 plants. Judging by the weight of this plant, I'm guessing at least 1.5oz per plant for the remaining 3.
The leaves on the Maui Wowie are starting to yellow, and the pistils are about 75% amber, with the bottom buds having about 90% amber. The trichs look mostly cloudy, I could only find a single amber trich yesterday, but I plan to check it everyday until harvest. Hoping to harvest her this Sunday, but only if she's ready.
The Sativa and Unknown Heady look amazing. The main cola on the Uknown heady is soo fat, and the buds on the Sativa are so delicious looking - lime green and frosted. I'll get pics up here when I harvest the Maui Wowie in a couple of days.

Thanks a lot man. I'm really pleased with my results thus far. It's my second grow - first with CFLs which gave me surprisingly great results (had a grow log up here but had to delete it for safety reasons  ). I figured I got such bangin' results with CFLs that I might as well step it up and decided to upgrade to a 250w MH/HPS for the second grow.
To be honest, I don't even really have a ventilation system.
I've got the 250w hanging in my closet, started with the MH for veg and switched to HPS for flowering. The max temperature in there has been 90F with the HPS full blast and no fans whatsoever.
I put a small desk fan in the back left corner of the closet facing upward, and a box fan at a 45 degree angle facing up toward the light from outside the closet.
I then sealed off the vent in the room that the closet is in so it's usually a steady 60-70 degrees in the room, even if we have the heat on in the house, and a steady 80-85 in the closet. I picked up a $15 reptile aquarium thermometer that has a probe that I dangle just over top of the canopy, and I haven't had any heat issues.
Another thing I highly recommend for a small <4 plant 250w grow is a closet air ionizer. I picked one up on ebay for $20 shipped and i have it hanging at the top of the closet right over the canopy running constantly and it takes care of about 90% of the smell issues. However, if you're in the room with the closet in it, it definitely smells, but that's to be expected without a carbon scrubber, etc.
In my specific situation, this setup works perfectly. As much as I would love to set up a legitimate, state-of-the-art growroom, I cannot modify the drywall/ventilation system here as I will not be living in this spot much longer. In the hopefully near future I will be living in a state where I can legally cultivate my medicine.
In any case, the 250w has given me incredible results so far and I really can't wait to see my final dry yield. You will love your 250w setup with or without an elaborate ventilation system. Of course, a nice vent system is always a good idea if you're growing where it's not exactly *legal* and you have neighbors who are... how shall I put it... *narcs*.

Still barely any amber trichs. I see maybe 1 for every 100 or so. Mostly all of the fan leaves have yellowed and the leaves in the buds that have trichs on them are starting to get yellow and brittle. Just about all of the pistils are red/brown. I'm really confused and not sure if I should just chop her, or keep her goin until the trichs start to turn. It looks like a lot of the bud leaves on the colas are going to get crumbly and brown here soon.
I started flushing about a week, week and half ago, and have been feeding plain water since. To me, the plant looks just about finished, the buds are fat, dense, covered in trichs, pistils are all red/brown, and the majority of leaves are yellowed and dying. It's just that maybe 2-3% of the trichs are amber. 95% are cloudy, maybe 2% clear.

Hmm, for vent right now I have one ocsiclating fan in the room pointed on the plants then I have another in the door way of my closet blowing air into the closet. I was hoping i wouldn't have to cut up the walls for a vent system andfrom what you say about your set-up it turns out I might now have to, awesome

Maui Wowie Harvested 11/28 - 64 days of 12/12.
I know she could have gone a little longer but something was happening with her leaves drying out and crumbling and I honestly want to focus on my two other plants - Unknown Heady and Monster Sativa - they're both looking fucking out of this world, and actually should be ready for harvest sooner than I thought. The Kmart soil plants yield is all but gone except for a nice 2.5g bud that I'll be curing.
So without further adieu..

Did a qwiso extraction on the trim and yielded 1.5g of quality hash. The buds are currently hanging and will be going into jars as soon as the stems snap.

The colas on the the two other plants make the Maui Wowie buds look like toothpicks. I'll definitely get new pictures up tomorrow now that there's much more room in the closet.

And last, and least as well, the force flowered from seed plants (I trimmed off all fan/sugar leaves to add them in along with the trim from the Sativa and Unknown heady so I can get a monster chunk of qwiso hash. These plants were just a test, and if they each yield a single gram I'll be pleased):
Hoping to harvest these ladies in about a week, but only time will tell.

Total dry weight from Maui Wowie: 48g (roughly 1.7oz)
I'm fucking ecstatic with my results from this 250w HPS.
The Maui Wowie was the smaller of the 3 large plants, so I can't wait to see what the final dry weight is for all of them.
So as of right now:
Kmart Kush: 7g dry
Maui Wowie: 48g dry
Total: 55g dry
I'm assuming the final 2 plants will weigh more than the Maui Wowie, so I'm predicting a final weight of about 5.5oz give or take from all 4 plants, with about 5-7g from the 5 force flowered plants.
Final Dry Weight Guess: 160g
Anybody wanna take a shot at guessing the final weight of all plants combined?

Chopped the unknown heady today. Looks like a slightly larger harvest than the Wowie, so I decided to leave about 7g worth of buds on the plant until they get about 75% amber trichs just to see what type of high I prefer. Did the same thing with the Wowie, except I only left about 1g on there.
The Sativa is going strong and loves all the extra light she's getting, however I did break one of my CFL's I had in there for extra light, but eh.. fuck it.
I'm dreaming about that 160g total harvest. Let's hope it actually turns out to be that much.

So, my grow is complete (technically).
I found a good bit of amber trichs on the "Sativa" and decided to chop her down.
The Unknown Heady will be dry and ready for jarring tomorrow night, and the "Sativa" will be dry and ready for jarring Sunday morning. Will provide pictures of each strain once I jar them.
The yield looks like it's gonna hit my goal of 160g total for the entire grow, but I don't wanna count my chickens as they say.
Anyway, here's the yield for the Unknown Heady and Sativa (Unknown on the front two strings, Sativa on the back string):

The Maui Wowie is curing nicely as is the small 2.5g nug I have left of the Kmart Kush.
I left the Maui Wowie plant with a 1g bud attached, the Unknown Heady with about 7g buds attached, and the force flowered from seed plants in the closet with the light going just to see how the high differs when you let plants go for extended periods of time.
Was a great grow, and I definitely see the benefits of MH/HPS over CFL, as well as benefits of premium soil over shitty generic brand soil. Gonna be my last grow for a good while 'til I move to a state where I can do it all legal like Bugsy Siegel, as Snoop would say.
On a side note, anybody need a complete 250w MH/HPS grow setup? hahah
Planning on posting the final dry weight of the Kmart Kush, Maui Wowie, Unknown Heady, and Sativa this Sunday. Then the log will essentially be done until I decide to chop the remaining couple buds and force flowered plants, and I'll get dry weights and bud pics up of them as well.

Was planning on pulling down the drying Unknown Heady tonight, but it looked ready this morning. Final Unknown Heady dry weight: 68.5g
Totals:
Kmart Kush: 7g
Maui Wowie: 48g
Unknown Heady: 68.5g
Sativa: TBD
Looks like I should easily hit my 160g mark and then some.

I'm gonna continue to call it "Maui Wowie" just because the dude I bought the bag I got the seed from off said it was Maui Wowie. Doubt it is, but fuck it, who the fuck cares.
Since the Uknown Heady and Sativa were just random heady bagseed, I'm not sure what to call them. I could make up a strain name, but that seems fucking gay. I kinda just like "Uknown Heady" and "Sativa", but then again, I also like "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle" and "Charlie Sheen" or some bullshit like that... or I could just call it weed. I'm fucking high hahaha.
Any ideas/suggestions/personal experience?

A half a pound off of a 250 watt and I would call you a god.
My plants doing great shes one giant LST'd bush. I'll probably have my DIY ebb and flow setup tomorrow with the hydroton. If i get it all set up I might make a new grow log cause I just flipped it to 12/12 so maybe I'll do one for flowering since i kinda just let my last one die 
Yes please smoke some maui for me. I'm so jealous of your heaps of bud, I'm stuck buying until probably late jan/early feb.
haha make up a new name for each one whenever someone asks, one day it can be Rhode Island Rimjob and the next green dream (or is that already a strain idk too  )

(Near) Total weight is in. 188.5g for the 4 main plants, so I'll easily get 200g+ with the force flowered plants and whats left on the plants.
