Thanks for the input on the filter. I didn't know that it really mattered where in the room it's placed. I have the oscillating fan and a/c pushing all of the air in that direction, too. Plus, the room's air is basically being recycled through the a/c and back into the space. There is the exhaust for the a/c pumping air into the attic, though. I'll get up there tomorrow to see if there is any smell escaping. I may need a bigger inline fan, too.

Yeah bro in a room or a tent either one. The heat from your light rises up . Along with the heat the smell is carried up . The filter when placed up high pulls out the smell, and allows the fan to remove more of the heat . Therefore allowing cooler air to be sucked from the bottom. Long story short is it will work a lot better up high. And so far your log looks great . keep us updated ....have a HeAdY DAY

third pic looks male, can't really tell with the rest. get a needle and poke it around, them male flowers will separate down the center, where as when you mess with a calyx it'll be noticeably one chunk. i've thought male before and it just turned out to need a few days for the pistils to come out though. i generally get 60-75% male's though
lookin at that last pic i'd def say that's male

Okay, I'll go check it out with a needle. I hope it's not, but I have a gut feeling that it is. I'll check back in a minute. Thanks for the response.

Well, I poked around a little and I still can't really tell. I'll give them another light cycle and check again. If anybody else has an opinion, please chime in.

Thanks for that. It makes me feel a little more optimistic, because they still looks like both a little. I think I'll be able to tell more by tomorrow at this time.

if you notice some of the balls that your pre-flowers are made up of are already starting to come off the stem with their own stems, and i don't believe calyx's do that, they just cluster.

That's what I think too. The more I look at tem, the more I'm sure they're male. I should have started more plants to keep this from being a total loss, but I didn't. Back to the drawing board, I guess. Thanks for the responses, guys.

Alright. I trashed the 2 males, so it's back to the drawing board. Oh well, I should have popped more seeds anyway. I am currently soaking 21 Cinderella '99 x Kali Mist, so maybe you'll see another log from me in the next few weeks. Thanks for all of the helpful comments, guys. I really appreciate it.

Just don't let it get you too discouraged, we all deal with this type of problem at some point. The C'99xKali Mist sounds like a good cross, and with 20 you're sure to pull at least 6-8 females. You really didn't even get much chance to build the log, I say you continue on and change the title. If they're soaking now they'll be ready for pics in no time. Good luck

Thanks man. It was mildly discouraging, but I knew it was risky only having 2 plants. I still have a pretty awesome set up with a ton of potential.
I appreciate the kind words.

Think about it, if they are both 600W they are both generating the same amount of energy, the energy is what causes heat.
Good try.
The electricity is generated by your power company or other local supplier (possibly you, if you make your own electricity).
For an incandescent or a HID light to work, they use filaments of different materials and enclose them in different environments. Materials and gases vary, thus creating the differences in construction between the lamp types (incandescent, MH, HPS).
The filament portion of the lamp is essentially a large resistor. Its job is to restrict the flow of a lot of electrons. These electrons get very excited and exit in what is typically known as radiation. Both kinds of radiation are produced with this type of lighting: visible (light) and non-visible (heat).
I hope this helps some.

Nice try, but the ballst supplies the power to the bulb, thus 'generating' the power from the original source i.e. the 110v outlet. Think you may need to look at the definition.. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/generate
Next time be sure you're correct before bustin' my balls

I'm not busting balls, but you are wrong. The ballast transforms the power generated elsewhere. All it is doing is tuning the energy in to the needs of the lamp.
I read your link and a ballast does not generate energy, even based on the link you supplied. A ballast does not do any of this:
1. to bring into existence; cause to be; produce. 2. to create by a vital or natural process. 3. to create and distribute vitally and profusely: He generates ideas that we all should consider. A good diplomat generates good will. 4. to reproduce; procreate. 5. to produce by a chemical process.
