Damn Magash how do you get suck beautiful flushes on the same size trays I use. Does a Martha make that much difference. I know I should fan mine more then twice a day but it is hard to break away to do it.

You know one of my biggest rules for shroom growing is constant airflow. Yes I could fan a few times a day but my big thing is to mimic outdoors as much as I can. I found 2 decent ways to do it with both cakes and casings and the second I went from just fanning to full airflow the pin count went threw the roof.

and for cakes I came up with this little guy about 8 years ago now.

I have your Poor mans pod already and thinking about the martha. I kind of got an idea of putting small computer fans in my fruiting chamber to run off a time as long as I can keep the temps in the right range when they kick on. Thinking like 30 sec to 1 min every hour or two. I need to start up the pod again, just have to clean it up since I have not used it in like a year or two, pretty much since I quit doing cakes, but I do remember how my cakes just exploded in it.

nice, I'm glad i just read that part, because i didnt know they needed the airflow, just rigged up two cpu fans as air intakes, and cut a little exhaust hole in the far corner, so lets see what happens!

I find large holes stuffed with polyfill work just fine for a smaller setup.

that's what i usually do, with monotubs of course. They are simple, imo. I still have a martha set up somewhere around here. I just had much much better results with a monotub. I, like magash said, also like the constant air flow. I would attach a humidifier to the monotub in the center and the airflow seemed to increase the size of the shrooms. Here's an example in this picture. notice how the shrooms in the middle are much larger than the others and as the fruits got farther away from the immediate air stream they got smaller. I don't think that's a coincidence.
you can see where the humidifier is pushing out the air on right side above the shrooms there^
top view, you can see how much bigger they are in the center there^
and again
dont give me any shit about the fucking spores being released. I waited an extra day before harvest so that I could drive to vegas for a show. No time to take prints of the bigger ones before i left.

and why are the tubes filled with the cotton stuffing? is that to keep the humidity from getting out? i just poked a bunch of holes in the walls for exhaust, and also one big exhaust one and then i have 1 cpu fan pointing into each box through i big hole i cut.. did do something wrong?

That's most likely polyfill instead of cotton it lets air through and not contams.

I got a big bag of polyfill from Walmart pretty cheap. It is just a cheap filter material and works so win win. Oh and by the way guys beautiful pin and shroom porn.
