This is a redneck way to avoid buying a French Press. Ever since I started making coffee like this I have not used a drip maker. It takes a bit longer but the final product is 1000 times better.
Here is a list of the things you will need
a) 2 quart sauce pan b) wire mesh coffee filter c) glass (or plastic) container to hold the coffee in d) big fork or a wisk e) coffee
I grind my coffee up real fine
and add about 1/4 cup to my holding pitcher
fill with almost boiling water
cover and let sit for 10-15 minutes stir with fork or wisk let sit another 15-20 minutes for a total soak of ~30 minutes
poor coffee through filter into your coffee pot (to keep warm)
most of the grounds will have settled to the bottom leave that last bit of coffee in the pitcher
