I'd recommend the first one. Later tonight I will show you a fellow TA member that I hung out with for a few days in LA when i was there for the shows in July. He has probably a dozen tool tats, the best of which is huge all across the front of his neck. tool tats are everywhere man. that first one you posted is original though, so i like it a lot.

I totally agree there's too many overdone tool tats. I love how the 1st one is literally prying open its third eye
Soooo lets not tell anyone about that 1st one and I'll be all set to get it!

I loved me some TOOL back in the day but I rarely listen to it anymore. Its still really great metal but I can only listen to AEnima and Lateralus so many times.
But Adam Jones is a great artist regardless so I'd get the tattoo even if you're not as hardcore a year or two down the line.
I kept wanting to call him Paul Jones but that's the dude from Zeppelin I think.

John Paul Jones is the bassist from Zeppelin, their drummer was John Bonham (R.I.P.)
Danny Carey is a fucking INSANE drummer. The Fibonacci sequence in Lateralus is ingenious.

Yeah dude Neal Peart(or Neil Pert whatever; dude from Rush), Danny Carey, and Hellhammer hands down the best drummers in rock/metal. Lars Ulrich is pretty good too and that first guy that was in Slayer and Steve Asheim of Deicide is pretty insane, Tyr from Emperor too. I would say Danny Carey is more along the creative technical side.
