Yellowing leaves on outdoors.
    #469809 - 08/30/10 05:37 AM (14 years, 3 months ago)

There's about a month left before they are ready for harvest.

The buds are doing nicely for the climate but the leaves are yellow and just don't look right.

I can't take any photos just yet but what is this a sign of? They get plenty of water but maybe it's overwatering?

They get nutes every 2/3 days also.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Older fan leaves will naturally begin to yellow and die off as the plant matures.  However, if the problem appears more severe (ie. if it is affecting the buds), it could be that your nutrient solution is not strong enough, or that the plant is not receiving enough light and/or water, your pH may be off which is locking out certain nutrients from uptake, or your plant may even be diseased.

Pictures and a more detailed description could help us better diagnose the problem.
  • How big is the plant?
  • What strain is it (if you know) and how many weeks into flowering is it?
  • What are the day/night time temp's?
  • How much water do you give it and how often?  How dry is the soil when you water?
  • Do you feed nutrients with every watering, what type and in what concentration?
  • Are there any signs of bugs or pests on or around the plant?

Thanks for the response.

Yes,you're right,it is only the older fan leaves that are dying off,not the buds or the leaves that have grown along with the buds.

Nothing is precise in this grow, each plant gets a good soaking each night. The soil rarely gets bone dry before I water them again.

The nutes is bio bloom. Every few days a small squirt goes into the water can.

They should be ready in a few weeks, have been flowering for a few months but have only really come on in the last month.

Is there a specified amount of time to start flushing them?

Most of them aren't sensemilla either as an early hermy queered the deal but not to mind. I'm not to pushed about a couple of seeds.

It is generally advised to flush the soil with clean water 7 - 10 days prior to harvest.  There are additives that can be added to your flushing water that supposedly let you move the flush date to only a few days before harvest... but I've never tried those so I can't speak to their effectiveness.

Cheers,thanks.

They've about three weeks left so I might give them one more dose of nute but I might not.
