when one of my friends came over and said he just bought lowryder from a dispensary? like seriously, wtf? Can there seriously be such a shortage of growers out here that some idiot n00b growing LOWRYDER can actually get shelf space? If someone tried to tell me they're a professional grower and that lowryder is their strain of choice I would literally just laugh in their face.

This thread makes me sad, I've only tried 2 strains that actually had a name. I don't know shit about lowryder but I wouldn't be suprised if it was better than the shit in my area.

it's just that lowryder is notorious for being the choice of absolute novice growers. It's not that it's necessarily terrible weed, but (and no offense to anybody here, I promise) when I see someone growing lowryder I basically assume it's their first or second grow and that they don't really know what they're doing yet.

I did have some citrus kush a few days ago, tasted amazing and had a really good buzz. But I'm not too sure how legit it was, people around here will try throwing a name on their weed when they sell it and try selling it for 60-70 an 8th. When I can get some dank thats waaay better for 45-50 an 8th and they don't give it some bullshit name. Meh, I just need to start grwing my own.

Kush has a bottom taste thats easy to differentiate. Maybe I'm wrong, but all the kushs i had had that taste. Lemon, citrus, orange, purple, no named.

I have seen some shitty weed from the dispensaries. Once my friend brought over a bag that he got from the club that was labeled "Mendo Scriffles" and it was nugs of bammer ass seeded weed.
I don't think shelf space is their limiting factor at the clubs.

The lowryder just means that it's an autoflowering strain. It doesn't have a long veg period and goes right into flowering. It was originally a cross of an C. indica and a C. ruderalis plant. that's why it autoflowers, bred for that feature through the rud. As of my understanding, ruderalis is really low potency so you lose some of that with the finished product. Plus the amount of harvest you get is dramatically reduced per plant, so that's one reason HB laugh's at a 'professional' cultivating that strain. It's a novelty strain, like the dr. grinspoon strain.

I must admit, that I am an absolute noob when it comes to growing pot. Autoflowering strains interest me at the moment. Is lowryder a good choice, or are there better auto strains?

you can even buy the brick in Amsterdam. in fact, the first bag I bought there was some afghani brick that was absolutely disgusting
