Well if you're planning on going pretty big then the 1000 is your only real option. If you have the room and money for separate veg/flower rooms then I'd go with a nice T5 for veg and the 1KW HPS for flower. Or ya know, like 15,000W in flower and 300 plants, but that's just a suggestion.

1000 watt MH, much better than a T5.
You legal growers are so lucky.

well it depends, huge as in tall then yes absolutely get the 1000, huge as in wide then you'll be fine with the 600. But quite frankly if you can afford it then go with the 1000, you definitely won't be disappointed

Lunatek digital, can run on 120/240, also can set to 600,750, 1000 watt and super bright(not real name). Very quite.

If I only had 7 plants I think I'd go with 2 x 600 vs a single 1000.
You need to keep the height of the plants down as much as possible I've always been told 600w's are best for SoG or plants that are 2' tall and 1000w's are best for plants that are 4' tall it seems there's some sort of grey area where they are more equally matched.
You should be able to train some nice 6oz monsters.

I agree, go with the 2 600's you will get better light coverage and get the bushes you want not just tall trees.

I also agree 2 x 600w would be a glorious investment. Plump, juicy, ripe ass buds all around...

closer to the plant tops is also easier to achieve with 600s.

what yields more? i could grow them 6ft. if i wanted but i gues i could just get more clones after i harvest so 2 600 hundreds huh. would it make that much of a difference because there really isnt much of a price difference between a 6 and 1000 and should i go thru ebay? are the light kits on there worth getting . thanks again

600w's are said to produce 11% more light per watt. They produce less heat which makes it easier to get them closer to the tops of your plants which also in turn makes them yield more in comparison to those further away. 1000w's are good for 4+' tall plants as they have more light penetration.
600w's would require you to train your plants more to keep height down compared to 1000w's but overall yield better per energy used.

Two 600 watt lights will provide better canopy coverage, but will produce less canopy penetration then a 1000 watt light. So that means the tops of your plants will receive the most light, but any bud sites below the top of the canopy will receive drastically reduced light levels.
Personally I would go with the two 600s. However, if you have the cash and desire, fuck the 600's and get two 1000 watt lights. It sounds like you have the space for it, so again if cash is not much of an issue I would look into that.

When your making a 300 dollar investment, whats an extra 70 bucks to make it a 1000 watter?
2- 600 watters would be a shitpot more money than just 1- 1000 watt.
1000 watt makes buds more dense. I have 1000 watt.

2x 1000 is the way to go if that is an option, just make sure your panel can support the load that's why i could only go 1000 or 2x 600, not enough amps for 2x 1000 here, and i'm not trying to start a fire the best nugs i've ever seen were grown under 10x 1000w, they were 6ft tall with 3 weeks left! i wish i could go that big

As far as buying from Ebay, depends on what you wanna spend.. If you're looking for cheap, HTG is the lowest I would go, they have good prices and still carry a 5 year warranty on their digital ballasts. Anything cheaper or with less name recognition than them I wouldn't trust.
You should do some research on pros and cons of using soil vs hydro, it will help you make a better, more informed decision on what is gonna work best for you. Personally, I would suggest hydro, because it can be done for the same or less money, and is usually a little more productive.
The only problems you would encounter running two 1k lights is the heat created, you're gonna need a good bit of air moving to keep 2k watts cool. I would recommend air cooled hoods and a 450-550cfm fan blowing through them. The other problem, is most house circuits are 15 amps, meaning you don't want to exceed about 1500w total of continuous usage. So you either need two dedicated lines off the box ran to your grow area, or you could use a drop cord from another room for one light. If you were to do that, you must make sure the outlet you are pulling from is not wired on the same circuit as the grow room. There are many half ass electricians out there that will run a couple rooms and sometimes more on one 15a circuit. Also, the shorter the cord the better, and make sure it's rated for whatever load you will be placing on it.
Basically, pay attention, look at labels, find out what kind of draw everything is pulling and then you know how much to place on any given circuit. Be anal about it, don't cut ANY corners when it comes to this aspect of the hobby. Otherwise you'll end up with a pile of char and ash for a home, and when the fire marshall inspects, you're also gonna get charged for cannabis cultivation, and probably more.
EDIT: NVM, looks like you are cultivating legally, but they would drum some charges up if you were at fault for the fire.
