Cervantes "Marijuana Horticulture" edition question

Hi all,
My first post! I was reading some of the Trusted Cultivators say that the Marijuana Horticulture Indoor/Outdoor 5th Ed. Bible is the book to have. (Magash and a few others said so.)
I have the old book from 2001, which is named "Indoor Marijuana Horticulture"... and am wondering if it's worth getting the latest one.
Maybe some of the veterans here have seen both, and give me a hint?
PS: Since Mr. Cervantes' track record is to release a revised copy every 2 years, (latest being in 2006), perhaps he's working on a 2010 / 2011 version, and I should hold off for a few months? I emailed the Contact Us of his own page, but am uncertain if I will get a reply.
Thank you!

Well, I doubt the glut of information contained in the book is going to be vastly different then what you have in your copy. So if you don't really want to spend the cash I'm sure you won't be missing much.

Thank you for asking this question. Am I allowed to ask someone to post a link to a place where you can download the newer version of the book?

Despite being new here, I do know that it is against the board policy to post links to copyrighted content, which gives this site a greater chance of being shut down.

Way to read the rules man. Follow 'em and stick around and ask questions with pics and you won't need the newer edition. BTW I think there are ways to get around that rule like I know you allowed to post youtube videos in copyright violation and I believe I saw a link or something to get the Grow Bible earlier so I thought I would ask. You could also google it.

I took your suggestion. Actually the book is available on Google Books currently as some promotion from the publisher I guess. But all those crappy pencil drawings are replaced with color photos... and that's good enough in my book. I might just give my older copy away. Or sell it cheap to anyone who wants it.
It can be searched on: http://books.google.com/
Hopefully Mr. Cervantes doesn't release a 6th edition a week after I buy it

If I had to pick just one book to have for growing this would be the one

Yes.
GOOGLE has a portion of it for free, but you will want to shell out the money for it. It'll be your best investment into this hobby. nothing will trump knowledge - and the pigs can't take it away from you.

Thanks for the post. I ended up ordering this 5th ed cause of the nice photos.
But I'm also curious about the new Rosenthal book coming out in a day or two... 2010 Marijuana Handbook or something... what do you "growing pimps" aka Trusted Cultivators think of Rosenthal's track record?

I have never met Ed but I have been at parties with his daughter a few times (she didn't smoke). The guy who would take her to the parties owes me $10.

I love the chapter in this book on hash making. Great reading and pics.
I wish that his book had more information on trimming plants though.

what more information are you looking for on trimming? Pretty simple process isn't it?

It is a simple process but can get tedious.

Looks like I've got enough opinions.
Also I went to a headshop to buy a bong and a pipe, and the clerk had about 6 copies of the Cervantes book, and highly recommended it, saying it was excellent. Like, he really sounded sincere about it when I pointed his book section out. So that plus everyone else's input here makes the choice clear. Thanks to all who posted!!
PS if anyone actually has looked through Ed R's new 2010 handbook and also thinks it's good, please speak up. So far the only real review I've seen is from a guy named SubCool, but it looked like a bit of a plug.
