You could also try super cropping the bigger plant, You would very carefully bend the main stem until it creats a bend in the stem, but be super carefull because you can break the stem if you push too hard. it will slowly heal itself and create a bigger path for the growth hormones. all while your other plants will catch up in height a little bit. Also if they arent femed seeds, your going to be able to kill the males out soon enough so that will help too.

but the pot was big
enough room for them to never show stress of being pot bound

But chances are you could have got more weed growing 1 or 2 plants in that much soil instead of 3 plants all fighting for everything.
