 QUESTION FOR ALL OF YOU PEOPLE WHO KNOW THINGS

In colorado, do you think it's safer to
a) just grow a personal quantity of marijuana and tell absolutely nobody, or
b) become a caregiver so it's "legal" by state law, but your name is listed in a government registry as someone who grows marijuana
?

im from colorado and i think it would generally be "safer" if you grew a small amount away from where you lived and told absoulety no one..or if you actually have someone to caregive for and make it legitmate that would be the same as covering your ass...but colorado is pretty cool mostly when it comes to marijuana..

Just grow and tell no one. Colorado can be nice... but i've gotten raped every time i get busted. I wanna get legit and everything, and i'd so caregive... but still tell no one. And that'd be hard. But i just think its safe to tell no one... its so easy to slip too.

well it's not possible to be a caregiver and tell no one. I obviously wouldn't go around bragging and showing everyone my plants, but you have to register with the state... and that's exactly the someone I don't want to find out

What are you worried about with registering legally?
Pros:
-If police come, you can SHOW THEM YOUR PLANTS and not go to jail.
-It's legal on a state level.
-Less anxiety, you don't have to worry about smell.
Cons:
-The DEA, IF they choose to violate new regulations and bother with your 3 plant grow-op can arrest you; they know where you life.
You have much less to worry about if you are a legal caregiver, unless you can grow 100% stealth. But worst case scenario, if cops need to go in your house, you go to jail if its not legal.

I'm just worried because Colorado is where California was at about 3 years ago. I've heard a couple cases of the Patient getting arrested and spending a couple nights in jail and tons of time in court... I can't even imagine how lame it would be to be the caregiver...

I say go with option B.

Go with Option B.
Because even if your "Stealth" grow gets you caught, that could be YEARS in jail.
If it's option B, and the DEA decides to bust your ass, it could only be a few DAYS in jail. If the DEA jails you, while you are a caregiver, you can raise all sorts of hell saying that the state gave you permission to do so.
