I am currently in my 2nd year, 4th semester of college. I recently had an epiphany and realized as a career i wanted to grow marijuana (for medicinal purposes) i was wondering if anybody knew the fields or majors i would have to go into in order to start this... thanks

Just get a license and be a good business owner. It is a business some people aren't cut out for it. Trying to compete with other dispensaries is not easy since they are already established...But it can be done weed will sale =D
Anyway, you need no schooling. But growing weed in bulk is not as easy as you may think. It requires a ton of work and you always have to keep in mind you could always get raided...Is it worth it to you to go to prison?? It is for me but not for everyone.

Let me throw this in there...There may be some degree you could get to be able to show the banks when you go for a loan. They won't hand it to just anyone.

well the first thing that obviously comes to mind is biology or biochemistry, perhaps with a focus in botany. it always helps to know the most possible about what you want to pursue in life.

If you want to specialize in growing a plant, I would look towards getting a degree in horticulture. I have thought about doing this myself.

i agree with wut was said above. study biology, particularly plant biology (obviously) and horticulture. chemistry would also be good.

botany, agriculture,... but most large med grow ops are run by people who are friends of each other and new employees are rare. And your job will mostly be trimming buds.

One of the smartest men i ever met was a plant biologist. I would think that area would be fitting. Do some research into the classes required and see the differences then look up some of the classes and see what topics are addressed. Maybe you can double major in a couple of these that have overlapping requirements. Ultimately it's about the knowledge you gain. It's not all about formalized education.
