Bagel's do seem to retain the heat more-so than your standard toast.

Gotta be careful. I always do the push-down pop-up method to fling my bagels out of the toaster.
I'm sure it shortens the life of the toaster greatly. But I gotta get my toast.

Smoked  is one of my favorite foods period. I smoke as many salmon as I can every fall, people eat it faster than I can smoke it.

I wish. The only thing alder smoke does is make my eyeballs feel like they are on fire.
