Anyone play abandonware games or warez of older games? I feel like the games made today are just the same old thing, but with flashy 3-D graphics, and they are increasingly demanding on hardware.
Some that I'm fucking around with currently are
Fallout 1 + 2 (and 3, but I've gotten bored of this game, maybe I'll get into again some day)
Daggerfall and the Elder Scrolls series (including Oblivion, this game is actually more fun for me than Fallout 3 )
I like all the Fallout, LOVE all TES games, never played any of the others though. Dungeon Keepers I & II are worth a try if you like strategy - they're fun as hell and very unique. The first computer game I ever played was either Commander Keen or Cosmo, both fun as hell...
Audiosurf and Beat Hazard are some really fun games that you should check out.
Right now all I am playing pretty much is Torchlight, Osmos, and World of Goo. Torchlight is very fun, Osmos and World of Goo are pretty simple games that get boring after a while.
Edit: None of them are old, but they are worth checking out. Not the typical games.
