Those plants appear to be experiencing some severe sexual frustration. Good work! Get more lights too. It's my n00bish understanding that the amount of hairs (pistils!) correspond to the number of unfertilized calyx. So I think it stands to reason that if you increase the light you will increase the calyx production and thus have more pistils. Each calyx typically has 2 'hairs'. Also, ensuring a pollen-free grow room goes a long way toward this goal.

its sexually frusterated because its lacking pollen and light?
Sexual frustration is just the lack of pollen to seed the plants (which is what they want, we dont). It's sexual frustration beause there is lack of pollen, yes. More light will add the hairs, so to speak, and according to the logic in that last post of mine.

not to my knowledge, could be wrong about that though. Interesting question. You don't want the pistils. You want more calyx's. more light = bigger and denser buds, which is nothing but a bunch of calyx all stuck together. light will help you in that regard.

ya, that guy knows his shit. what do you mean by pistil formation due to genetics? you mean calyx instead of pistils?

i still think you mean calyx. each normal calyx has two pistils. So it's calyx formation that you're talking about.

Harlz said: dude, I know what a calyx and a pistil are jesus.. I clarified this
Look at all the pistils on the first plant, and then all the pistils on the second plant... same lights, same nutrients, different amount of pistils, different strain
The amount of pistils are influenced by genetics which are unique to strains...
where do you think the pistils grow from?!

Furrowed, you have always seemed intelligent, but you are looking like a fool right now, you should just admit you are wrong, because coasters plants require a much better example using the same lights and nutrients ( the only difference is strain), as opposed to random pics off the net
read my first comment. I am only stating my thoughts according to reason. I STILL think it makes sense. Maybe you should go back to smoking herb.

I was thinking of this in the shower this morning and want to add what i was thinking about. You can (and i bet someone has) breed a mutation that has 3 or 4 pistil rods in each calyx. Not something i would look for, but the issue you are arguing is regarding mutations. if a calyx has more than 2 pistils it IS a mutation and not a normal calyx as i had been talking about since my first post. so i think we're really arguing different issues.
