we are all sick of there being 100 channels and nothing good on
and they allow programs to air if enuf ppl watch it
but just because its being broadcast on a persons set doesnt mean they enjoy the program
so what if there was an option to press a button when you are watching a show to opt out of contributing to that programs ratings
that way all the shows with ppl opting out of will b canceled weeding out all those excuses for shows

yea but its a little more complicated than that. there would be some fucking producers going nuts.
but if it were possible it would be cool. shows and channels usually are weeded out anyway based on how many viewers they have.
so in a way you can opt out..just dont watch it

Can't tv stations tell who is tuning into a particular show? Isn't that how they weed out shitty shows to begin with?
Also, what if you didn't like the show at first but now you do.

producers can go nuts now like if u click on an ad on hulu they get more advertising $ and they jus click away
and sometimes u watch a show u like and its a bad episode so this way u can opt out basically boycotting the show even tho u accidentally watched it

i do like the advertising idea
comcast here does it on there digital cable menu..probably the beginning of them trying to do something kind of like you are referring to
of course they are doing it for monetary reasons and not for the benefit of anyone else
-theyll take a good idea and shove 28 carrots in your ass, steal your idea and then refuse to do anything worth while to help you out...but as long as you are a paying customer theyll gladly take your ideas and fuck em good

but like still 80% of shows suck so it obviously doesnt work well.

They wouldnt care if you opted out cause they would still be getting ad money, But it would be a good idea to have a   rating type deal on TV channels

The news and the Stanley are the only two things I watch on T.V. ever.
Most shit like movies and T.V. shows I watch on my computer.
